LESS FORTUNE CHILDREN HAD A JOYFUL DAY OUT AT PHOENIX MALL, VELACHERY FOR SHOPPING AS PART OF CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS ORGANIZED by CHENNAI BASED NGO DR.JOHN JOSEPH FOUNDATION
At Dr. John Joseph Foundation, situated at No.10/21, New Mandapam Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600 010, we celebrate Christmas and New Year like no one else. Every year we used to support around 200 less fortunate children with kits required for school and Christmas and New Year. This year we have scheduled our Christmas celebration on 22nd December 2017 at Phoenix Mall, Velachery. It was an amazing event with a difference in the lives of the children of the foundation and also other children who have been invited from vulnerable slums of Chennai and Chittoor.
Dr. John Joseph Foundation along with the Starmark group has planned a "Shopping Spree" day for the children. Around 120 children gathered at the Starmark outlet, Phoenix Mall, Velachery, at 4.00 pm on 22nd December 2018. Each child is permitted to buy any gift of their interest for an amount of INR 1000. This experience will give every child an exposure to a self service shopping centre. As the event is happening in the noon, we also give a sumptuous meal for all the children and the volunteers at Burger King.

Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas. Both of these ingredients were present in abundance to treat the 120 less fortunate children from different communities were gathered at Starmark, Phoenix Mall, Velachery.
It become a beautiful evening to see the children from various homes gifted with a Rs.1000/- voucher to select or shop on their own and grab a toy or item of their choice...Ho, Ho, Ho, there was a variety of items present on the racks of Starmark. Hey, hey, hey, here we are to pick up our desire. Every child was confused what to pick & what to leave. Finally they loaded their baskets with Dairy Milk bars, toy scooters, stationary kits, funskool toys and much more. Dinner was also provided for these 120 kids at Burger King.
The chief guests of the day Dr. Radhika Ganesan, Chief Clinical Research Nutritionist & President, Association of Food, Nutrition & Dietetics and Mrs. Vrinda Deepak, President – Rotary Club of Anna Nagar Madras, were totally amazed at the happenings. Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!
Churchill Joseph, Founder of Dr John Joseph Foundation has been doing this event for the past few years. Dr John Joseph Foundation works among the children and runs a Care & Support centre for the less fortunate children in Kilpauk. The foundation also has worked with diplomatic missions in community development activities. The foundation has completed 10 years of service in Chennai.
