As part of our Rotary International Dist 3232 Anns Forum we have great pleasure in inviting you for the Pink Auto Program launch on Tuesday, the 11th December 2018 at 10 .00 am to be held at Hotel Crowne Plaza.
The program is for empowerment of downtrodden ladies, these pink coloured autos will be driven by ladies and the first beneficiaries are wives of policemen. This initiative will be first of its kind in south India. The first auto will be sponsored by Kalaimamani Sri. Abirami Ramanathan Sir.
The autos will be a major help to women commuters as their service is exclusively for them. The autos, painted in pink, can be found at different Metro stations and bus stands. According to officials, the pink autos are fitted with GPS and electronic meter. They also have protective grille to ensure safety of commuters.
The auto also bears the name, address and contact number of the driver. Women can hire pink autos. The autos will also facilitate Free Wifi and FM Music to keep the commuter happy.
The pink auto scheme was envisaged by our convenor Smt. Nallammai Ramanathan Madam to ensure the empowerment of downtrodden ladies. Madam C. Maheshwari – Joint Commissioner of Police along with leading actor Vikram Prabhu accepted to be our chief guest for the function.
The pink auto will facilitate women commuters,” it is really a good initiative. “This project “Pink Auto – My Ride My Pride” will improve women’s safety on roads.
