AFTER ALMOST 20 YEARS ACTOR ‘ARVIND SWAMI’ IS BACK TO VOICE FOR
THE TAMIL VERSION OF DISNEY’S LIVE ACTION ‘THE LION KING’;
THIS TIME AS THE VILLAIN ‘SCAR’!


After having conquered hearts with ‘The Jungle Book’ in 2016, Disney is all set to present its legendary franchise and crown jewel - ‘The Lion King’ – with ground-breaking technology that re-imagines the greatest story ever told. Etched forever in pop culture, the animated version was known for its strong and emotional storytelling and memorable characters that won hearts of fans everywhere. The character of Scar, Simba’s nefarious uncle is specially etched in our memories as one of the most menacing villain of all timeonscreen!

In great news for Kollywood fans, Disney India has roped in reigning heart-throb of the 90’s and actor extraordinaire revered by generations ‘Arvind Swami’ to voice the menacing Scar in the Tamil version!Interestingly the actor had dubbed for the lead Simba in the Tamil version over 20 years ago when the animated version released on television for Indian audiences- a true circle of life for the actor!

"It was a great learning experience dubbing for an animated film over 20 years ago when I dubbed for Simba in The Lion King. When I was approached this time around to dub for a character in the new version of The Lion King I preferred to dub for Scar as I saw the character as the most Interesting and multidimensional. It was an enriching professional experience."says Arvind Swami.

Directed by ‘Iron Man’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ fame director, Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Lion King is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times. The heroic coming-of-age journey will make it to the large canvas with a pioneering and game changing photo-real technology, using cutting-edge tools to make the musical drama come alive on the big screen.
