IndiGo and EkPrana Foundation launch ‘Seat is the New Mat’ campaign

  • Introduce 6 asanas specially designed for a comfortable flight experience

IndiGo, India’s leading airline, in collaboration with EkPrana Foundation, have introduced a new campaign - “Seat is the New Mat”- on occasion of International Yoga Day 2019. The campaign has been launched to promote holistic wellness through a yoga regime that the passengers can follow on their seat without disturbing their co-fliers. The campaign features six asanas that every passenger can perform easily while being seated in an aircraft seat. This will effectively help passengers avoid muscle stiffness and fatigue from sitting for long periods of time when travelling.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Summi Sharma, Vice President, ifly, IndiGo said, “Wellness has been a part of IndiGo’s culture since its inception. We are extending the same ethos to our customers through this campaign. We are thankful to our partner EkPrana Foundation for supporting this campaign and identifying the right asanas one can perform to ensure a comfortable flight experience. These asanas are picked with a holistic approach to enhance all the six senses and provide relaxation from head-to-toe. Hence, ‘Seat is the new mat’ for our passengers.”

Commenting on the campaign, Mr. Michael Menezes, Founder, EkPrana Foundation said, “We are delighted to collaborate with IndiGo on this International Yoga Day with an amazing initiative that could actually see over 2,00,000 fliers every day on IndiGo flights discover a new way to health and happiness with Yoga. We believe “The Seat Is The New Mat” campaign, supported by IndiGo, could be an important first step in bringing Yoga and Ayurveda back into the spotlight and could well become a game-changer in helping our country combat lifestyle diseases of stress, diabetes and hypertension.”
