Automotive Engineering Show 2019






The 12th edition of Automotive Engineering Show (AES) kicked off in Chennai today with some of the biggest names from the industry demonstrating technical advancements. With smart manufacturing seeping rapidly into the sector, industries concentrate on finding various ways to boost component and vehicle production.



The automotive manufacturing hub of India, Chennai witnessed the inauguration of the country’s leading exhibition for the sector - Automotive Engineering Show 2019. The show that has displayed tremendous growth in exhibition space and exhibiting companies, hosts 94 companies that includes some of the biggest names in technology & solution providers of smart manufacturing for automotive sector including Tata Motors, Staubli, Festo, Bettinelli, Eplan, Pepperl & Fuchs, Schmersal, Baumer, Sick India, Pilz India, Wipro 3D, Polyworks, Bharat Forge, Nikon, Carl Zeiss, Olympus and Ingersoll Rand Technologies. Fitting the needs of business visitors like automobile manufacturers (OEMs), auto component manufacturers and machine builders, the platform will display advanced manufacturing technologies for the auto industry.
 
The term ‘smart’ is imbibed by every automotive company nestled in progressive India. Along with mass production, lean adoption, and globalisation, big data and the involvement of smart technology has fuelled the overall growth and profitably of the automotive manufacturing industry. Understanding the need for deeper awareness of smart technologies in this industry, AES Chennai 2019 in association with All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA) is hosting ‘Industry 4.0 and the rise of smart manufacturing’. The seminar that is scheduled on the 5 July 2019, will talk about concepts like Industry 4.0 and digital twin in automotive industry.

With the help of smart technologies like ‘digital twin’ that combines the virtual and real world of production, industries can master the ever-growing challenges in their highly dynamic markets. Industry experts will cover spheres like digital twin and its impact on Industry 4.0, digital twin technology benefit in automotive organisation and the challenge of creating digital twins in the transition to Industry 4.0.

Other topics that will be highlighted at the show are data management for automotive manufacturers, automotive cybersecurity, proactive asset performance management with IIoT and analytics in automotive industry (India). The meeting point for leading automotive companies and OEMs will also host closed door workshops by Wipro 3D and Polyworks Software India Pvt Ltd.

Chennai being a hub for the automotive companies in India, has attracted international players from China, Poland and South Korea. Associations like All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA), International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) have strongly supported the show making this platform an important prospect for its stakeholders
