An
educational, fun and entertainment-filled day for dialysis patients
NephroPlus, India’s largest dialysis care network and a
trailblazer in redefining dialysis care in India organized a day-long free,
educational cum fun event for dialysis patients. The
initiative is a flagship quarterly event of NephroPlus under the name ‘Aashayein’ held exclusively for
dialysis patients aimed at helping them evaluate their awareness levels on the
disease and self-care patterns, in addition to evaluating improvements in the
quality of their lives. The activity was graced by Mr KamalD Shah, Co-Founder & Director of
Guest Services, NephroPlus & Mr Sukaran Singh Saluja, Vice President,
Operations NephroPlus.
More than
100 patients and their family members with a similar set of problems gathered
together under one roof to interact with each other; discuss their problems and
most importantly – have fun. During the session, the patients also had a
comprehensive discussion with Nephrologists, Urologists and Dieticians on the
importance of leading a positive and normal life while on Dialysis, the process
of kidney transplant, diet and stress management during the dialysis process.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamal
D Shah, Co-Founder & Director of Guest Services, NephroPlus and himself
on dialysis for the last 22 years said, “Through Aashayein, we wanted to show
that dialysis patients can lead normal lives. At this event, patients hear
Nephrologists, Urologists, Dieticians and most importantly, other dialysis
patients talk about how to lead the life you want to and reduce dialysis to
being just a small part of their life.”
There were a lot of fun activities organized for the patients
along with an elaborate lunch in accordance with their diet.
