International Conference on Multifunctional and Hybrid Composite Materials for Energy


The Department of Chemical Engineering is organizing an International Conference on Multifunctional and Hybrid Composite materials for Energy, Environment and Medical applications (ICMHCEE 2019) during 9-11 September 2019 at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. It aims to bring together leading academic, scientists, and industries to exchange their expertise in the application of multifunctional hybrid materials.


The Inauguration Ceremony of the Conference took place at EEE Auditorium, NIT Tiruchirappalli. Dr Ahmed Fauzi Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), AMTEC, University Technology of Malaysia Served as the Chief Guest for the Ceremony. Dr K.Meera Sheriffa Begum, Professor and Head, Department of Chemical Engineering and Conference Chair delivered the Welcome Address. Dr N. Anantharaman, the senior-most professor of the department delivered the introductory address and spoke about the growth of the Chemical 
Engineering department of NIT Trichy. He also mentioned various Alumni of the department who are currently occupying key positions in the areas of Academics, Entrepreneurship, Industries and Administrative Sector.

The Convener of the Conference Dr G Arthanareeswaran, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering declared the conference open and spoke that the conference would bring together Academic and Industrial 
Expertise and discuss the problems the world is facing right now and come up with innovations and solutions. He also added that 123 Presentations by people from all over the world, 2 Plenary Addresses and 18 Keynote Addresses are to be delivered by Participants and Eminent people from Academia and Industries. He also encouraged the participants to Network and Collaborate with everyone and Publish the papers in renowned Journals.

Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, Director, NIT-T conveyed her wishes for the successful conduct of the conference. Dr M Umapathy, Dean (R&C) spoke that the collaboration would be beneficial for both the students and the institute, and congratulated the department for organizing the conference.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by the Chief Guest, where he remembered his days of research with Professor G. Arthanareeswaran and delivered the Plenary address after the inauguration. Dr K.N. Sheeba, 
Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering delivered the Vote of Thanks.

This conference will provide a premier interdisciplinary platform to discuss the most recent innovations, practical challenges and solutions to be adopted in the fields of hybrid materials for chemical process, energy, environment and medical applications.
