Chennai to get its first e-court as Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) goes digital

The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in order to enhance the efficiency levels, embraced new technologies and started decisively migrating towards digital courts or e-courts since 2012. The metro cities Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur and Ahmedabad are already equipped with the e courts, facilitating the hearing of cases via video-conferencing.


A fully equipped separate court room with seamless video conferencing facilities has been set up at the Chennai Bench of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. This new facility will be inaugurated by Justice Mr. P.P.Bhatt, President of the Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal, on 15 November 2019 (Friday)at 12.05 pm at Rajaji Bhavan, Besant Nagar, Chennai in the presence of Hon’ble Shri. G S Pannu and Hon’ble Shri N V Vasudevan, Vice Presidents of the Tribunal and the members of ITAT, Chennai.  The inauguration will be followed by hearing of the cases, through video conferencing in the new e-court.
