Over the
years with various initiatives, KLM has developed as a pioneer in
sustainability within the airline industry. KLM is committed to take a
leading role in creating a more sustainable future for aviation and actively
working towards reducing the C02 emissions and the impact on environment.
In
September 2019, Air France – KLM was back at the top of the Dow Jones
Sustainability Index (DJSI). This is the 15th consecutive year that Air
France-KLM has been in the top three of the DJSI.
KLM is the
first airline in the world to recycle PET bottles to make tools for repairing
and maintaining its aircraft. Empty bottles are collected at the end of every
flight and transformed into filament, the material used in 3D printers. This
process means an empty water bottle can end up as part of a 3D-printed piece of
equipment that saves Engineering & Maintenance time and money.
Additional
capacity between India and Europe by Air France-KLM
This winter alongside the increased
capacity & frequencies of KLM, Air France will also increase capacity and
will operate Boeing 777 from Mumbai and Bengaluru to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
The joint offer from the partners is an increase of 25% over last year winter.
