Karan Johar’s house party video gets a clean chit from the Forensic Science Laboratory!

 For the past year and a half, eminent personalities of Bollywood faced false accusations through social media. It was in 2019 that Karan Johar had posted a video on his official Instagram handle, where he was seen partying with some of the A-listers of Bollywood at his house. However, the video went viral for all the wrong reasons. Karan and his friends faced several allegations for consuming drugs at that party.

While the filmmaker had already clarified that no one at his party consumed any illegal substance, the video went viral again in 2020, after the Narcotics Control Bureau started investigating an alleged drug case in Bollywood post the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

According to a report, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has given a clean chit to filmmaker-director Karan Johar’s house party video. The officials have stated that the white line appearing in the video is merely a reflection of the tube light, no drug has been confirmed in the forensic report and there has been no evidence of film stars consuming drugs at the party. The FSL further stated that no drugs or any harmful and illegal substances were found post inspecting the video.

In September 2020, Karan Johar had released a statement clarifying his stand on the house party video. He wrote in a statement, "Certain news channels, print/ electronic media and social media platform(s) are wrongly and misleadingly reporting that narcotics were consumed at a party that I, Karan Johar hosted on July 28, 2019, at my residence. I had already clarified my position way back in 2019 that the allegations were false. In view of the current malicious campaign, I am reiterating that the allegations are completely baseless and false. No narcotics substance was consumed in the party. I WOULD LIKE TO UNEQUIVOCALLY ONCE AGAIN STATE THAT I DO NOT CONSUME NARCOTICS AND I DO NOT PROMOTE OR ENCOURAGE CONSUMPTION OF ANY SUCH SUBSTANCE.”

It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Bollywood for the past few months. Having received baseless allegations from the audience and threats by faceless trollers, it’s commendable how the fraternity is supporting each other through this tough time.

Kudos to Karan Johar and the entire fraternity for fighting this battle courageously and bringing justice to all the false accusations they have faced in the past!

Hero Sharwanand’s new film Aadaalloo Meeku Johaarlu has been launched today in Tirupati. The film’s lead actress Rashmika Mandanna also attended the opening ceremony.

MLA Gottipati Ravi Kumar switched on the camera, while MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy sounded the clapboard for the Muhurtham shot on Sharwanand and Rashmika Mandanna. Anagani Satya Prasad and 14 Reels Plus producers Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta have handed over the script to the makers.

Sudhakar Cherukuri will produce the film under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas (SLVC). Sujith Sarang is the cinematographer.

 Muthoot Finance Ltd has announced its 23rd   series of Public Issue of Secured Redeemable Non-Convertible Debentures of face value of Rs. 1,000 each (“Secured NCDs”). The Issue is with a base issue size of ₹ 100 crores with an option to retain oversubscription upto ₹ 1900 crores aggregating upto tranche limit of  ₹ 2000 crores (“Issue”). The Issue opens on October 27, 2020 and closes on November 20, 2020 with an option to close on such earlier date or extended date as may be decided by the Board of Directors or NCD committee

The Secured NCDs proposed to be issued under this Issue have been rated CRISIL AA/Positive by CRISIL and [ICRA] AA (Stable) by ICRA. The rating of the Secured NCDs by CRISIL and ICRA indicates “high degree of safety regarding timely servicing of financial obligations”.

 SBI Life Insurance registers New Business Premium of Rs. 8,998 crore for the period ended on 30th September, 2020.

 

SBI Life Insurance, one of the leading life insurers in the country registered a New Business Premium of Rs. 8,998 crore for the period ended on 30th September, 2020 vis-a-vis Rs. 7,817 crore for the period ended September 30, 2019. Single premium has increased by 54% over the corresponding year.

 

Establishing a clear focus on protection, SBI Life’s protection new business premium stood at Rs. 910 crore for the period ended September 30, 2020. Protection Individual new business premium registered a growth of 13% and stood at Rs. 267 crore for the period ended September 30, 2020. Individual New Business Premium stands at Rs. 4,206 crore.

 

SBI Life’s profit after tax stands at Rs. 691 crore for the period ended September 30, 2020 registering a strong growth of 38% over the corresponding year.

 

The company’s solvency ratio continues to remain robust at 2.45 as on September 30, 2020 as against the regulatory requirement of 1.50.

 

SBI Life’s AUM also continued to grow at 20% to Rs. 1,86,360 crore as on September 30, 2020 from Rs. 1,54,758 crore as on September 30, 2019, with the debt-equity mix of 76:24. 90% of the debt investments are in AAA and Sovereign instruments.

 

The company has a diversified distribution network of 2,07,520 trained insurance professionals and wide presence with 947 offices across the country, comprising of strong bancassurance channel, agency channel and others comprising of corporate agents, brokers, micro agents, common service centers, insurance marketing firms, web aggregators and direct business.

SpiceJet launches eight new flights to Bangladesh

Adds Chittagong as its 11th international destination

 ·         Flights to operate under India-Bangladesh air bubble agreement 

·         First Indian airline to operate a non-stop flight between Kolkata and Chittagong

·         New flights effective 5th November, 2020

  SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline, today announced the launch of eight new international flights between India and Bangladesh under the air bubble agreement between the two countries. The airline also announced the addition of Chittagong as its 11th international destination.

 SpiceJet will operate non-stop flights between Kolkata and Chittagong four-times-a-week. Besides, the airline will operate flights on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi, Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata and Chennai-Dhaka-Chennai sectors. All the flights are scheduled to commence from November 5, 2020.

 SpiceJet will deploy a mix of its Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on all these routes.

 Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet, said, “SpiceJet is delighted to add Chittagong as its 11th international destination and announce the launch of our new flights connecting Dhaka with Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. We have always witnessed good demand on our flights to Bangladesh and we are confident that our new flights will bring smooth connectivity for the passengers travelling on these routes.”

 The port city of Chittagong is Bangladesh’s second largest city besides being one of the country’s major financial hubs. Being an important center in Bangladesh for international trade, the city is a key destination for business travelers.
