Velammal Vidyalaya's noble gesture
Students of Velammal Vidyalaya, Paruthipattu have personally stitched 5000 masks and donated the same to the Collector of Thiruvallur District, Smt. Maheswari Ravikumar, I.A.S at the District Collectorate today.
Velammal Nexus group of schools, well known for its excellent track record of achievements both in academics and extracurricular activities now wishes to extend its patronage to the frontline workers. We are greatly humbled by the efforts taken by all these frontline warriors.
At this unprecedented situation, as a token of reverence, with the guidance of Shri. M.V.M.Velmohan, Correspondent, Velammal Educational Trust, the students personally stitched 5000 masks making optimal use of their time at home. More than 100 students partake in this esteemed process. Children spent quality time with their parents and gained the important social skill of being responsible citizens and in the process felt pride in their endeavour.
The masks were handed over to Smt. Maheshwara Ravikumar, I.A.S. by Ms. V. Selvanayagi, Principal, Velammal Vidyalaya, Paruthipattu on 1st June 2020. Our collector appreciated the noble intentions of the management & kids for their initiative and also assured about the distribution of the masks to our zealous frontline warriors of COVID-19.
Velammal salutes the real heroes who are fighting a valiant war against the pandemic.
