 *Shoot of 'Vadakkan' produced by noted publisher Vediyappan and directed by writer Bhaskar Sakthi commences*

The shoot of 'Vadakkan', produced by popular publisher Vediyappan of Discovery Book Palace and directed by Bhaskar Sakthi, has commenced today. Bankrolled on Discovery Cinemas banner and presented by Cinema Palace, the film completely has newcomers in its cast. Cinematography will be by ace cinematographer Then Easwar. 

Bhaskar Sakthi, who is the dialogue writer of successful movies such as 'Emtan Magan', 'Vennilla Kabadi Kuzhu', 'Naan Mahaan Alla', 'Pandiya Nadu' and the scriptwriter of 'Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai', is making his directorial debut with 'Vadakkan'.

Commenting on the film, Vediyappan says, "It is a story about a much-talked about subject in recent times. Bhaskar Sakthi, who will make his directorial debut with this film, is an award-winning screenwriter and dialogue writer for many successful television serials. He has written the script and screenplay for various blockbuster films. 'Vadakkan' stars newcomers Kungumaraj and Vairamala in the lead roles. All the other characters will be played by the people of the native."

Speaking about the film 'Vadakkan', director Bhaskar Sakthi said , "I started my career as a writer, then as a journalist, after that I have worked as a dialogue writer for some of the best TV serials. I have also written dialogues and script for films. Now I am continuing my film journey as a director for the first time with 'Vadakkan'. It is a pleasure to work with my long-time friend cinematographer Theni Easwar on this film. Kungumaraj, who has trained in the theater industry for 20 years, plays the protagonist of the story. Vairamala, the lead lady of the story, is a native of Theni who was discovered by veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja."

Bhaskar Sakthi further said, "The film will talk about a much needed topic of this era. We have started this film with confidence on the story. I am hopeful that the film will do well and get a good response," he added.

Another highlight of this film is 'sync sound', i.e., live sound recording. Rajesh Saseendran, who recorded live sound for the recently released movie 'Thalaikoothal', is working in 'Vadakkan' as well.

Carnatic musician S J Janani is composing the music and Ramesh Vaidya is penning the songs for the film. Kaththu is the art director and Nagooran is the editor. Nikhil Murugan is doing the public relations work for the film.
