Vels University (VISTAS) offers various scholarships schemes for the benefit of eligible students every year which enables them to pursue their dream courses. The notable Scholarship scheme was "Vels Free Education Scheme for Children of Corona Warriors" to honour the relentless services provided by the frontline workers during the COVID pandemic, namely Nurses, Police Personnel and Sanitation workers. 300 free seats have been allotted to the wards of the above personnels at free of cost.
Every year 500 seats are allotted under VSAT (Vels Scholarship Admission Test), based on merit. The students are given scholarships in their tuition fees upto 100%. The other scholarships offered are Merit Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship and Ishari Velan Merit Scholarship
At present, nearly 200 students are given Sports Scholarship in which they are exempted from all fees in addition to providing free accommodation and Food.
In order to honour the services of Ex-servicemen, VISTAS is already providing 10% scholarship in the tuition fees for the wards of Ex-Servicemen.
*Now VISTAS has come forward to offer ten free seats with 100% concession in the tuition fees for the wards of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and War Wounded Veterans in order to recognize the selfless dedication for the noble cause of nation building.*
The offer letter has been presented to Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu Thiru. R.N. Ravi Avargal by Vice Chancellor of VISTAS Dr. S. Sriman Narayanan in the program "Governor's Think to Dare" Series- VI, Interaction with the Veterans, Veer Naris and Gallentery Awardees of Award Forces, organized at Raj Bhavan, Chennai today.
