Demise of a Legend in Agriculture.
Our late Mr.Nammazhvar, an Agricultural Scientist, Organic farming activist had led various protests against the methane gas project started by Great Eastern Energy Corporation proposed in the Cauvery delta region of Tamilnadu. He trained and helped hundreds of youths to be farmers and one such great student and follower is Mr.Nel Jayaraman.
He opposed genetically modified seed scheme and achieved to recover more than 170 variety of traditional paddy. He created the awareness of traditional paddy seeds and guided youngsters who had great interest in agriculture.
Today our farmers have lost a pearl of agriculture. We will always be grateful for his contribution.
