Chennai, 5 December 2025 – The JioStar leadership team, led by Krishnan Kutty, Head Entertainment Business, South Cluster, JioStar, and Balachandran R, Executive Vice President – Tamil, JioStar, along with R. Mahendran, CEO – Turmeric Media, called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K. Stalin, today to brief him on their upcoming flagship event, JioHotstar South Unbound.

 

During the meeting, the team outlined the vision, ambition and cultural significance of the event. They also shared key elements from the Letter of Engagement, reaffirming JioStar’s commitment to supporting talent development, collaborating with leading film and media institutes in Tamil Nadu, and investing in capacity-building initiatives to strengthen the state’s creative ecosystem and empower emerging storytellers.

 

JioHotstar South Unbound, to be held in Chennai on 9th December 2025, will be a landmark celebration of Southern cinema and creativity. The event will bring together leading filmmakers, creators, and talent from across the South and will feature a showcase of JioHotstar’s upcoming South content slate, spotlighting and celebrating the depth, richness and influence of Southern storytelling.

 

The event will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin, alongside Hon’ble Member of Parliament Padma Bhushan Thiru. Kamal Haasan, who will grace the evening as a distinguished guest.
