R. Chezhian’s Paper Flower has been selected for the prestigious Tokyo International Film Festival 2026, in the ASIA FUTURE section.
Chezhian is no longer with us, but his cinema continues to travel, speak and find new audiences. This selection in Tokyo is a beautiful recognition of a filmmaker whose work was deeply rooted in the language of images, light and silence.
There is something particularly poignant about seeing Paper Flower make its way to one of the world’s important film festivals, after Chezhian’s passing.
