The VELS Group of Institutions & Companies inaugurated the VELS Trade & Convention Centre, VELS Film City, and VELS Theatres at Chembarambakkam, Chennai, in the presence of Padma Bhushan Dr. Kamal Haasan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Kamal Haasan’s presence added great significance to the event, underscoring the importance of institutions that invest in cinema, arts, and knowledge-driven industries. Addressing the gathering, he described himself as a “child of cinema” and credited cinema for shaping his identity and achievements. He also emphasized Chennai’s historic role as the birthplace and true hub of Pan-India cinema.
