Sanjay S Dutt's 60th birthday highlights of the teaser launch

Sanjay S Dutt Productions released the teaser of their upcoming film 'Prasthanam' on the eve of Sanjay S Dutt's 60th birthday.

The event was attended by the media and more than 180 fans who came out to support and wish the actor on his birthday. One of Dutt's ardent fan - a rickshaw driver revealed that he provides free service to all his riders on Sanjay S Dutt's birthday. Inspired by the actor, he has also started a foundation.

Amazon Prime Video’s Comictsaan S2 brings out carefully plotted witty jokes and with a unique and fun take on comedy. The show is a one-of-a-kind comedy series or a digital talent hunt for rising comedians.

AAKASH GUPTA- A standup comedian from Delhi, Aakash is an eccentric performer who always had that knack for making people laugh. JOEL DSOUZA - Growing up in a building with kids who'd rarely let him bat, looking out of the window and swinging on a swing were his favorite sports as it required little energy and zero friends. Daydreaming and lost in his thoughts, he would make most of his time trying to do nothing and yet look busy. If he's talking to you then he is probably asking you to follow him on twitter.

RAMYA RAMAPRIYA - Ramya Ramapriya joined the Bangalore comedy circuit in 2017 and hasn't looked back. She quit her corporate job because she hated it. Her hobbies include painting, stitching, and binge watching and sleeping. Basically she is a 65 year old soul that finds it hard to exist. Ramya Ramapriya wants to be known only for Comicstaan (2019) because she wants to keep her dark past to herself.

RAUNAQ RAJANI- Raunaq Rajani, a pure bred Bombay boy used to be a writer at East India comedy. He has one of the most fun voices you'll hear this year. His unique voice sometimes drops poignant truth bombs and sometimes leaves you with a random joke, making you wonder why you were laughing at it in the first place. He's appeared on TV for shows like NDTV rising star of comedy, Cyrus Broacha’s The News That Wasn't, Comedy Central's Stand up Showcase, Channel V's Sprite Teen Till I Die etc. He's quick on his feet and has a very sharp wit that you absolutely shouldn't miss!

ROHAN GUJRAL - Rohan Gujral is an upcoming standup comedian from Mumbai. He performs regularly at Bandra, Andheri and other suburbs. He travels by trains, taxis and other cheaper transport. His jokes revolve around daily life observations. He has performed at the Pune Comedy Festival 3.0, his aunt’s house in Jabalpur and other venues.

SAMAY RAINA - Samay Raina always knew he was not made for the corporate life and tried his best to escape from it. After miserable attempts at poetry, guitar, chess, table tennis, rapping and forging documents, Samay finally found his passion in standup comedy.

SHREEJA CHATURVEDI - Shreeja is a comedian from Mumbai, characterized by a straight face and animated hands. She has been active in the Mumbai circuit for over 2 years and considers herself a full-ish-time comedian. Mostly known for limited facial muscle movement, her dream is to someday have her own concert where she jumps into the crowd after landing a punch line, with crowds screaming her name and coming at her with bare chests to etch her name on.

SUMIT SAURAV - "An absurd take of banal subjects" is how Sumit describes his comedy. Not stopping there, he has taken up a corporate job to supply him with just enough frustration to complete the package of an "angry damaged comedian".

SUPRIYA JOSHI - Supriya loves Koalas, K-Pop and alliterations. She loves watching obscure cinema and in her free time dreams of playing a Naagin in a K-serial.

RED FM’s ‘Paani Yaad Dila Denge’ campaign addresses the critical issue of water scarcity

RED FM, one of the largest and most awarded private radio networks in India today, launched ‘Paani Yaad Diladenge’ campaign. Water scarcity has been under high alert in India for quite some time now with this issue being a gradual process of deterioration. With campaign ‘Paani Yaad Dila Denge’, RED FM emphasizes on the gravity of the situation by placing a daily reminder for 200 days on the morning show to create awareness and share tips for water conservation.

As per a 2018 report by ‘NITI Aayog’, on underground water level, India is facing its worst ever water crisis with 21 cities including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. These cities are estimated to run out of groundwater by 2020, affecting close to 100 million people. To make this a persuasive and widespread reach, RED FM plans to collaborate with various organisations including Pi-lo, India’s 1st talking water ATMs.

Commenting on RED FM’s new campaign, Nisha Narayanan, COO  & Director, RED FM said, “Amidst the rampant water scarcity prevailing in many parts of the country, government is also working extensively on this subject by creating Jal Shakti Ministry. Small efforts go a long way in making big changes, and keeping this in mind, we have created ‘Paani Yaad Dila Denge’ campaign. With a span of 200 days, we intend to spread the message across to all our listeners. Our collaboration with Pi-Lo for ‘Paani Yaad Dila Denge’ will magnify the reach of this initiative. We are confident that this initiative will mark the beginning of a safe and sustainable approach towards water conservation.”

To tackle the constant issue of people not shutting the taps while brushing/shaving, RED FM will go to different cities and distribute mugs to the listeners. This campaign aims to incite people by making them aware of the massive condition faced by 21 cities. This will be social media driven encouraging the audiences to post their photo with the mug using ‘#MugShots’. These photos will be further screened on all Pi-Lo water ATMs.

Parampara and The International Foundation for Carnatic Music’s environmental wing, Planet Symphony will jointly present the maiden concert of young violinist, Srinath Hariharan as an Event for Environment (EfE) with celebrated Indian musicians Akkarai Subhalakshmi & Sornalatha, Neyveli Narayanan and Ghatam Karthick on 28th July at Shastri Hall, Mylapore, graced by eminent violinist V V Subrahmanyam and V V Sundaram, the brains behind the world-famous Cleveland Festival.

The event will also unveil the Planet Symphony’s Scientific Urban Roofscaping for Environment (SURE) initiative to save thousands of cities and towns from water-shortage by attracting rain first and enabling citizens to harvest it much more effectively. Further , it can minimise flooding, purify air, lower indoor temperatures by at least 1°C (outdoor shade temperatures by several degrees more) & reduce strain on air-cons, lower energy bills and decrease greenhouse contributions.

Saving cities

“This is a significant occasion and a great opportunity for young Srinath to perform with top artists and also draw attention to important Climate Solutions”, said Chitravina N Ravikiran. “Millions of citizens suffer because of rain-deficits or floods, barely breathable air, unreliable power supply and high tariffs but the SURE project can turn it all around for them. The best news is that its return on investment is exponential in enhancing the quality of life and also saving the planet from an Environmental Meltdown.”
SURE is a 3-step process: (a) literally having 6--75% potted plants or terrace gardens to cover the roofs of any building away from or taller than the nearest trees (b) figuratively going green with solar panels and (c) installing roof-rain water harvesting.

Holistic training

“It is a privilege for Srinath to be part of this green initiative with world famous artists”, says his father, Hariharan. “He has passionately striven to develop his knowledge of classical music since the age of six. He began learning under Bhargavi Balasubramanian in 2014 and from Ravikiran sir in 2015 but his earlier training in with Western Classical instilled perseverance, confidence and a spirit to meet challenges that has percolated to his pursuit of Carnatic too.”

Srinath, a top-prize winner in premiere competitions such as the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, Carnatic Premier League and Minnesota Carnatic Star will first present a solo and then accompany the vocal concert of the celebrated Akkarai Sisters. “This is the true test of whether a Carnatic violinist is concert-worthy and this is the trend we have set for violin debuts”, said Ravikiran.

Srinath’s older sister, Ranjani (who made her debut last year as a vocalist) inspired him to replicate whatever she sang on the violin. “Under the holistic and innovative tutelage of his gurus Srinath has learned the importance of discipline, which has increased his focus in academics too”, says Chithra, mother of Srinath. “We are eager to see where his passion and resilience takes him next”.

“I have mentored several performing and prize-winning tele-students over the last 15 years”, Bhargavi, a member of the IFCM faculty said. “Srinath has immense potential and I was able to step him up from primary level to middle level within a few weeks. It’s a proud moment for me to present him in this significant event for Chennai audiences”.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology held its 28^th Convocation on    28^th July, 2019 at the Institution Auditorium, with the blessings of Founder Chancellor Hon. Colonel Dr.Jeppiaar. This Convocation was presided by Hon. Chancellor Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, and President Dr. Marie Johnson.

Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), was the Chief Guest for the occasion. He awarded the degrees to the graduands, appreciated the gold medalists by distributing the merit certificates, gold medals and delivered the convocation address. 

In his address, he emphasized upon various factors by which student upbringing is significant for societal development. He praised founder chancellor’s vision of the Institute and appreciated tremendous efforts continued by the President and Chancellor in taking the institution forward.

In this memorable ceremony, Shri. Madhavan Nair Rajeevan,Secretary, Ministry of Earth Science (MoES), Shri.R. Umamaheswaran, Outstanding Scientist & Scientific Secretary, ISRO,  Padma Shri S. Arunan, Director,Directorate of Special Projects, Mars Orbiter Mission ( MOM), ISRO, Shri. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, Director, Human Space Flight Programme, ISRO, were awarded the honorary doctorate for their valuable contribution for the progress of our society and thereby our nation.

A total of 3029 graduants received the Degree, i.e., year 2544 Undergraduates, 401 Postgraduates and 84 Undergraduates belong to department of Dental Surgery and 112 Ph.D scholars received their degrees. Among them 20 students are awarded with gold medals for their exemplary performance in academics. This year the Colonel       Dr. Jeppiaar Research Excellence award was received byDr. Tipole Pralhad Jaysing, from School of Mechanical Engineering for his outstanding research accomplishments.

           

The Institute also celebrated its success with placement of 1563 (92.07 %) students from various disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, Dental, Management, Arts & Science in the academic year 2018-19 for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Every year an amount of Rs.50,00,000/- is sponsored  towards Dr. JEPPIAAR REMIBAI MERIT SCHOLARSHIP  for meritorious students. Outgoing excellence award was given to 64 students of various Departments. All the graduands were appreciated by the Management and Staff of the Institution.

On this occasion the academic report was presented by Dr.S.Sundar Manoharan, Vice Chancellor. Dhanush’s Pattas First look sparks off Ultra-Celebrations

Actor Atharvaa Untitled project Started
