This International Yoga Day, Nickelodeon Says

The Nickelodeon franchise entertains millions of young fans across
India and has always created a fun-filled environment for kids. As a leader in the kids’ category, Nickelodeon continues to engage young viewers with initiatives like #YogaSeHiHoga marking the occasion of International Yoga Day. The uniqueness of the campaign is that kids favorite Nicktoons like Motu Patlu, Doggy Don, Rudra, Spongebob and many others are teaching kids to practice yoga to stay physically and mentally healthy.

Through a host of quirky videos and astons on-air, all the Nickelodeon franchise channels- Nick, Sonic, Nick Jr and Nick HD+, has creative communication of the Nicktoons performing various yoga asanas in the most adorable manner. 

One can see Motu doing the Tadasana to
Spongebob doing the Vrikshasana, encouraging kids to do the same and share their pictures or videos. The campaign is brought to life on social media with a #YogaSeHiHoga social media challenge and a lot of fun short form videos. 

The challenge aims at encouraging kids to imbibe  yoga in their daily routine which would help them stay fit physically as well as mentally. All kids must do is watch their favorite toons perform the yoga asanas on the channels and share a picture or a video of them doing the same on nickindia.com and the best entries would get featured on the channel. To reach out to as many kids as possible, Nickelodeon has collaborated with one of the fastest growing influencer community on facebook like Unimo Mom and dad with interactive Yoga sessions planned along with other key mommy bloggers. 

With the endearing Nicktoons leading the way, thousands of entries from young fans have poured in!




Last year, the campaign #YogaSeHiHoga saw Motu and Patlu perform yoga with Prime Minster Narendra Modi along with 40,000 people at Prabhat Tara Ground to promote the importance of healthy living. The initiative was applauded by the Prime Minister on his official social accounts.

In addition to this, the brand also partnered with Mumbai’s biggest Yoga event – ‘Yoga by the
Bay’ which was attended by over 10,000 yogis with Nicktoons Shiva and Rudra in attendance.


Commending the initiative, P.N. Ranjit Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, said, " As the world goes through tough times, communication houses including TV channels have a special responsibility to the society. They are the ones who are constantly in touch with the people, and engage with their thoughts, and hence they have the opportunity to usher in optimism. The Ministry of AYUSH is glad that Nickelodeon is packing Yoga into their content since the current health emergency is the right time to highlight Yoga in view of its rewards in the form of immunity enhancement and stress relief.

As part of proliferating the campaign, the brand also collaborated with mommy networks and
child celebrities Ruhanika Dhawan, Aakriti Sharma, Myra Singh Gill, to name a few, to come
forward and participate in the challenge and further extend support to the initiative. Speaking on the initiative, Ruhanika Dhawan, said, “I have been practicing Yoga especially after we were
asked to stay home and doing everything necessary to stay strong and healthy. Apart from
strengthening immunity, Yoga also helps me increase my concentration and memory power. I
strongly believe the initiative of Nickelodeon Yoga Se hi Hoga!”

Expressing her delight, Myra Singh Gill said, “Yoga is an important part of my life as it helps in relaxing my mind and be more creative. I am happy to be a part of the initiative undertaken by Nickelodeon for Yoga Day of building stronger immune system. I promise to encourage my
family and my friends to do so as practicing yoga each day has a lot of benefits.”

Commenting on the initiative, Aakriti Sharma said, “As we all continue to stay at home, it has
become important to do any form of physical activity to stay active and happy. I have been
meditating every day and practicing yoga everyday with my family and encourage my friends
too. It helps increase my attention and feel relaxed.”

The franchise is extensively promoting the campaign on-air and on digital with promos and
through an array of activities to drive awareness on the importance of Yoga.

RED FM aims to engage the nation for a ‘Digital Yogathon’. This virtual event will take place through a Facebook Live on RED FM’s official handle. Scheduled for 21st June 2020 from 8 am to 8 pm, RED FM RJs and various renowned experts will urge the audience to inculcate the practice of Yoga daily which can help cope-up with the current challenging times.

~ Yoga practitioners will conduct live sessions from Taj Fisherman’s Cove in Chennai, Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad and Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa from June 19-21, 2020
Jiva, the award winning wellness brand from IHCL has curated a one-of-a-kind yoga series for its guests and followers this International Yoga Day. Celebrating Indian wellness traditions, professional yoga practitioners will showcase holistic healing techniques through a three-part virtual wellness series taking place from 19th to 21st JuneThese experts will take guests through the principles of Ashtanga Yoga – the Eight Limbs of Yoga. Focusing on physical, mental and spiritual well-being, the virtual sessions will be live streamed from some of the most stunning Taj hotels across the country.


The soulful and tranquil ambience of the beach at Taj Fisherman’s Cove makes an ideal location to demonstrate the first few principles of Ashtanga Yoga, focussing on physical well-being. This will be streamed on the 19th of June 2020. Dr. Rajneesh, Ayurveda Physician and trained Yoga expert, will give guests an introduction to Ashtanga Yoga, followed by a discourse on Yama and Niyama and a demonstration of the Pawan Mukta series.
The next part of the series will take place on 20th June at the magnificent Taj Falaknuma Palace. Perched 2,000 feet above the city of Hyderabad, Taj Falaknuma exudes romance and grandeur, blending together colonial and Indian designs with a piece of history. As part of the session, National Gold Medallist in Yoga, Sandeep, will focus on mental well-being, introducing and demonstrating Pranayama, while hosting a discourse on Pratyahara.
The live sessions will conclude on 21st June in Rishikesh, the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, at the Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa. Located by the banks of the holy Ganga and at the foothills of the Himalayas, the hotel is the perfect location to celebrate International Yoga Day. The last session on spiritual well-being will be hosted by Yoga instructor, Kapil Kumar, who will briefly introduce Dharana and Dhyana, before moving on to meditating on the banks of the Ganga. The three-part series will end with a Ganga Aarti.

International Star and Critically Acclaimed International Actress, Writer-Director and Activist Fagun Thakrar Leads Yoga Mega-Event for people of Central London at invitation of United Nations



Fagun Thakrar, critically acclaimed International Actress, Writer-Director is highly active in global activism and education. Fagun has established herself as a global champion of healthy living and her mission to improve the health and well-being of people worldwide. Fagun has taught meditation, yoga, and holistic well-being throughout the world, working with groups as diverse disadvantaged children to world leaders and presidents. 

In honor of International Yoga Day, Fagun Thakrar led a mega-event to teach the people of Central London. Her leadership was apparent as she guided the people of Central London through a yoga routine and demonstrated the benefits of performing yoga together. This yoga event is part of Fagun’s broader mission to improve the health and well-being of people worldwide.  

Fagun has worked with The United Nations and Amnesty International, among other non-profits, to advance the cause of global health.  She holds leadership positions in many of these organizations, acting as international spokesperson for several.  Most recently, Fagun Thakrar joined the International Forum of the Women’s Brain Project as global ambassador.  Fagun has also recently founded her own global non-profit, The Fagun Foundation, dedicated to empowering women worldwide to overcome barriers in their educational, professional, and personal lives through creativity.

Fagun studied Medicine at the University College London, and earned a Masters in Fashion at the London College of Fashion. She then continued her study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London (RADA).  As an actor, Fagun has starred in international films alongside Academy Award winner Brie Larsen, Donald Sutherland, Martin Sheen and many more Hollywood actors. Fagun is currently working on a slate of movies between Hollywood and British productions. She is also directing a first-of-its-kind film on the intersection between mediation and the brain, as part of her commitment to spread knowledge concerning health and improve the wellbeing of people globally.
