        Mashreq Appoints Mohua Sengupta as the Managing Director for Mashreq Bangalore

Mashreq, one of the leading financial institutions in the UAE, has announced the appointment of Mohua Sengupta as the new Bangalore based Managing Director for Mashreq’s remote working campuses in India, Egypt and Pakistan.

 

Mohua will lead Mashreq’s remote working campuses in India, Egypt and Pakistan. She will collaborate with all group functions to enable and develop them into market leading talent and services platforms, to service the strategic, digital and operational requirements of Mashreq globally.

Mohua is a seasoned IT, banking and financial services industry veteran. She joins Mashreq from 3i Infotech, where she was Executive Vice President and Global Head of Services and was responsible for overseeing the services business unit. She was also the Member of the Management Council at 3i Infotech, responsible for the strategy and overall growth of the organisation. Prior to that, she was the Senior Vice President and Global Head of BFSI at ITC Infotech. Mohua has also held leadership positions at iGATE, MPHASIS and Accenture where she created revenue drivers, built organizational competency, and enhanced customer experience.

SpiceJet operates 200 charter flights helps

SpiceJet operates 200 charter flights; helps repatriate close to 30,000 Indian nationals

·         Operates 175 charter flights in June

·         Has operated 111 charter flights from UAE bringing back 20,000 Indians

·         Has operated around 50 charter flights from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Sri Lanka to bring thousands back home

·         Operates multiple domestic charter flights

·         Operates multiple charter flights for seafarers

SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline and the biggest air cargo operator, has operated 200 charter flights playing a key role to help Indians stranded abroad return home and reunite with their families. The airline has helped repatriate close to 30,000 Indian nationals so far.

SpiceJet has operated charter flights from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Sri Lanka helping stranded Indian nationals fly back home. The airline has operated multiple charter flights for seafarers in addition to operating multiple charters within the country. SpiceJet has also operated multiple domestic charter flights to help foreign nationals reach key metros like Delhi from where they could fly back to their respective countries.

In June alone, SpiceJet operated a total of 175 charter flights.

Ajay Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, SpiceJet, said, “SpiceJet is proud to have played a small role in repatriating around 30,000 Indian nationals and helping them reunite with their families. We continue to operate multiple charters on a daily basis and remain dedicated in our efforts to facilitate the return of our fellow citizens back home. This pandemic has seen SpiceJet rise to the occasion as and when our services have been required. We have transported around 20,000 tons of cargo since March 25 this year carrying medicines and medical equipment and fruits and vegetables to all corners of India and the world.”

SpiceJet’s international cargo network now spans over 40 countries with the airline operating regular flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kabul, Kyrgyzstan, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Myanmar, Moscow, Shanghai, Singapore, Sharjah, Tashkent and a host of other places.

SpiceJet operated the country’s first cargo-on-seat flight on April 7 carrying vital supplies in passenger cabin & belly space. Since then, the airline has been regularly deploying its B737 and Q400 passenger aircraft to carry cargo in the passenger cabin.

IndiGo operated special charter flights from UAE

 IndiGo operated special charter flights from UAE, Oman and Maldives to repatriate more than 1K stranded Indian nationals

In its endeavour to support the nation and bring Indian citizens back to the country, IndiGo operated six special international charter flights since the beginning of June. The IndiGo flight 6E 9092 from Male to Delhi transferred a total of 171 passengers on June 03 and June 04; flight 6E 9174 from Dubai to Delhi brought back 170 Indian citizens on June 04. On June 05, flight 6E 9235 from Muscat to Lucknow and flight 6E 9972 from Muscat to Gaya transferred 167 and 166 passengers respectively and on June 06 an IndiGo flight transferred 177 passengers from Muscat to Kozhikode. The charter flights were operated while observing all precautionary measures and safety guidelines.

Mr. Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo said, “We feel honoured as we continue to contribute towards the repatriation efforts to bring back stranded Indian citizens in these tough times. We would like to thank our government for allowing IndiGo to operate these international repatriation flights, ensuring a safe return of Indian citizens. The repatriation flights assisted in seamless and safe return total 1,022 Indian citizens, including 170 from UAE, 342 from Maldives, and 510 from Muscat.

C.R.I. Pumps Enters the USA and Mexico

₹35 crore (5 Million USD), setting up facilities in USA and Mexico

C.R.I. Group is expanding its wings globally. Speaking on this development Mr G. Soundararajan, the Group’s Vice Chairman, said, that the company has been preparing for more than a decade developing products for these markets, namely USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America and Caribbean countries. We have invested around 5 Million USD in setting wholly owned subsidiary in USA and Mexico. The USA facility will commence doing assembly of certain products in addition to supplying ground water pumping systems, waste water pumps, pressure boosting and industrial pumps.

He added “We have been catering to the USA and Mexico markets for over a decade, supplying through distributors. By setting up these facilities, we will enhance our technical and application support, reducing delivery lead times and will be able to cater new value-added segments to grow in these markets. The products launched in these markets include specialised pumps for mining applications, chemical process pumps, industrial pumps with IoT (Internet of Things) enabled health monitoring systems and encapsulated submersible motors fitted with lightning arrestor which were developed by C.R.I.’s R&D Wing for the 1st time in India. The annual turnover expected from these markets in the next three years is 10 million USD.

C.R.I. has made substantial investments in researching the USA and Canada markets and gaining international certifications that meet USA sanitation, food safety and safety standards such as NSF* & CSA**. C.R.I. is the first company in the world to get NSF certificate for its water filled rewindable submersible motors.

Princess of UAE addresses public of Ambur on Women Empowerment

The Anaikar Group of Institutions, a 52-year-old trust which runs six schools and a hospital in Chennai and Ambur organised a prestigious event celebrating women empowerment on Friday. Princess of the royal family of UAE,  Sheikha Hend Faisal Al Qassemi addressed about 5000 people including teachers, students and parents on the status of women in the society and the need for the upliftment of women. 

Hend Faisal Al Qassemi is a published journalist within newspapers and international magazines, and an accomplished author of a best-selling book, The Black Book of Arabia that is published by Bloomsbury and the Editor-in-Chief of a luxury fashion publication, Velvet Magazine. She is also an active charity supporter and philanthropist. 

Addressing the audience, she said, "Women and men empowerment must go hand in hand, they must help each other in improving each other. Emirates was a very poor country 40 years ago, what made it rich today is not the oil, but education. Invest in a child's mind, no matter the generation and the country will prosper for generations. I want you all women to be proud of what you do and stand for your daughter's education." The princess also laid the foundation stone for Anaikar Auditorium at the same premises.

Green Man of India, K.Abdul Ghani who was the guest of honour presented Rs.10,000 cash prize to Kashifa Nowreen for best logo. Other than this, the princess presented Meritorious Service for Anaikar Institutions certificate and awards to principals of the schools including  Mujeebunnisa, Naseema Sultana, Nasreen Begum, Sheik Abdul Nazer,  V. N.Khalilullah and Kashifa Nowreen.

Secretary and spokesperson of Anaikar groups of Trusts, Mohammed Anaikar said, "We are a 60-year old trust. Through our school, we provide education at a subsidized fee and also ensure scholarships. Of the six schools, two schools offer education at free of cost. We have provided education for more than one lakh students to date. Our educational institutions provide smart classes, well-equipped laboratories, transportation facility, full-fledged library with a safe environment and our boys and girls have been achieving state and district level top ranks regularly."

Also, Free NEET coaching is provided for girl students who are scoring good marks in board exams. Since they don’t have a Medical college, they sponsor for free Education for those students who pass out NEET. The entire course fees and hostel fees are sponsored by the institution.

Talking about the importance of such events highlighting women empowerment, Mohammed added, The awareness on the education of women and their upliftment is very little, so women face a lot of challenges from the society right from their childhood. Public seminars like this that throw light on women emphasis will sensitize the public and help women come out of the shell.
