Mercedes-Benz India is on the verge of creating history as we leapfrog into the future of e-mobility, and cross yet another important milestone in our 26 years of India journey!

The EQC is a very special vehicle in the entire portfolio of Mercedes-Benz as it’s not only a state-of-art electric car, but at the same time a 100 percent Mercedes!

 The wait for this very unique Mercedes is finally over, as the Three Pointed Star becomes the first luxury car maker to pioneer once more, the new segment of luxury EV in India.

 Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India will launch the EQC in India through a virtual press conference.

 The event will be live telecasted from Mercedes-Benz India’s Centre of Excellence, Pune.

Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) was inaugurated by

Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) was inaugurated by Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas, Director, NIT-Tiruchirappalli in the presence of Deans and Faculty members of the Institute. This AI has been established with 1.18 Crores sanctioned from Higher Education Funding Agency (HEFA). The CoE has been setup with a focus on interdisciplinary research in AI which is one of the thrust areas of research in recent times.

In line with this, NIT Tiruchirappalli has recently signed a MoU with NVIDIA Corporation in June 2020. The centre has already been sanctioned sponsored projects from DRDO, ISRO and Naval Research Board amounting to a total of 1.5 Crores. The Institute has also taken initiatives to extend the facilities available at the CoE to other organizations through Consultancy mode. In addition to these, the CoE-AI is plan to submit proposals to different Government and Private organizations to expand the R&D activities.On this occasion, the Director of NIT Tiruchirappalli said that, “This initiative will result in generation of highly skilled manpower in terms of Internships, Project Staffs in due course of time with expertise in AI. In addition, there will also be focus in attempting to solve the Societally relevant problems such as Crisis Management, Healthcare and Decision support System in light of the ongoing Pandemic”.

The core team of CoE-AI added that, in long term, this centre can establish itself as an Independent Centre for Research in Artificial Intelligence attracting and creating lot of potential opportunities with its available expert facility and expertise manpower.
