Registration open for all the young brilliant minds to be a part of country’s biggest IT Quiz

 

India’s biggest inter-school quiz, conducted by Tata Consultancy Services, TCS IT Wiz is back with its 22^nd edition. The knowledge initiative by TCS is more exciting than ever before as it has gone totally digital, enhancing its reach and hunt further for the brilliant young minds across the nation. This year, TCS IT Wiz has been re-imagined completely as there is no limit on the number of participants. The brilliant young minds can take the quiz from any part of the country and compete with their fellow quizzers from the comfort of their homes!

 Started in 1999 to spark interest in technology among high school students, TCS IT Wiz is today the largest and longest-running inter-school IT quiz in India. The unique platform enables the students to look at technology from an innovation perspective in an out-of-class environment, compelling them to open their horizons beyond textbooks.

The registrations are open till 22^nd October, students can register through- https://bit.ly/3d0QTKr. Like always, there is no entry fee to register. The participants will go through a Mock Quiz to get their game-on for the prelims.

 

The two prelim rounds will take place on the TCS iON platform and will be followed by pre quarter live quiz; this stage will have 128 student who then will reach the Quarter Finals to get to the top 64. The top 16 students will compete in the Semi Finals, out of which 4 will qualify for the Finals. The ultimate champion will be crowned the IT Wizard of the nation and will not only take home a Trophy, Gold Medal, Winner Certificate, but also some exciting Gift Vouchers.

Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz, India’s largest and eagerly anticipated business quiz, is back in a new online format for its 17^th edition. The registrations for this edition will be open from 6^th to 20^th October, 2020. This knowledge initiative by the Tata Group is all set to roll out and invite participation from the best and the brightest minds from corporates across India.

 As the world is adapting to the new normal, Tata Crucible has equally stood up to the challenge; and brought in the first ever virtual format to suit the demands of the time. Throughout its 16 years of quizzing history, Tata Crucible has consistently delivered exciting and novel formats, keeping the game ever exciting and energising. The quiz has always welcomed participation from both Tata and non-Tata corporates and this year, it will invite individual participation in place of a team, to enable easy participation in virtual form.

 In this pan-India quizzing competition to be held online starting with a pan-India prelim, the country is divided into 12 clusters and after two levels of online prelims, top 12 finalists from each cluster will be invited for wild card finals out of which top 6 finalists will then compete in the 12 online cluster finals. In each of the cluster finals, top scorer will be recognised as winner and the second top scorer will be announced as runner-up. The winners and runners-up at the cluster finals will receive prizes of Rs. 35,000 /-* and Rs. 18,000/-* respectively. 

The winner from each of the 12 cluster finals will compete in two semi-finals and finally six winners will qualify for the national final event scheduled to be held in December 2020. The winner of the National Final will receive a grand prize of Rs. 2.5 lakhs* along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy. The prizes for this edition are being supported by Tata CLiQ.

Formats and Qualifiers

Open for all, in-game qualifiers will be held to determine the contenders for the Online Qualifiers. Every registered squad will be required to play 15 matches, out of which, 10 best games will be taken into consideration for qualification. A total of 256 teams will compete in the online qualifiers, of which the top 248 teams are from the In-game qualifiers and the other 8 teams will come in as direct invitees. These teams will play 2 matches each and will try to dominate the leaderboard and grab the top 3 slots in each group to qualify for the Quarter Finals. The Quarter Finals will have a total of 64 teams competing in the online Qualifiers, out of which the  top 48 teams will make their way to the Quarter Finals. Quarter Finals will also have 8 invited teams. The other 8 teams will be chosen from the Online Qualifier results on the basis of top kills (the next top 8 after the first 48 teams). The teams will battle it out for a period of 4 days to grab the top 32 slots on the leaderboard for the semifinals. 32 top teams from Quarter Finals will advance to the Semi Finals.

A healthy mix of old established teams and fresh young talent will enable a high quality of competition on both sides. Semifinals will determine the prowess of the older teams while propelling the new squads to national recognition. Teams will fight it out for the top 16 slots. It all boils to the Grand Finals, where the Top 16 teams in the country will take a shot at 50 Lacs INR prize pool and attain glory. 3 days of intense battle royale action will see teams getting through a total of 18 matches to reach the conclusion. The finals are where the new champions of India will be crowned.

Commenting on the announcement of the second edition of the India Series, Aneesh Aravind, General Manager, Tencent Games, India said, “India’s immense love and support for PUBG MOBILE is our strongest motivation to keep developing new and better ways to keep our players challenged and entertained. We kickstarted open-for-all esports tournaments in India last year with the first edition of The PUBG MOBILE India Series with over 575000 participants, and this became the launchpad for many of our most talented players. The roots of almost all PUBG MOBILE pro-players and clans in India currently, can be traced back to PMIS 2019. The esports ecosystem and PUBG MOBILE players have come a long way in India in one year, and we want to accelerate this growth. We want PMIS 2020 to provide a path for our talented amateur teams to become pro players and be the next big stars in PUBG MOBILE.”

The tournament is unique as it puts all PUBG MOBILE players on a level playing field. There is no limit to the number of registrations from players. However, these will be filtered down basis the online - cutoff. The prizes promise a chance to walk away with INR 20,00,000 for the team ranking first, INR 5,00,000 for second and INR 3,00,000 for third. Cash prizes are there for the taking, up to rank 16.
