IndiGo transports over 50T in its CarGo flights to Singapore and Maldives

In its endeavour to provide support to the nation in the current scenario, IndiGo operated three international CarGo flights, to and from Singapore and Maldives. IndiGo flights from Mumbai-Male-Mumbai, Trivandrum-Male-Trivandrum on May 02, 2020 and Mumbai-Bengaluru-Singapore-Mumbai on April 30, 2020 transported over 50 Tonnes of cargo including pharmaceuticals, fruits and vegetables in the belly and cabin. The flights were operated while observing all precautionary measures.

Mr. Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo said, “We have been successfully using our A-320 passenger aircraft in a ‘freighter mode’ helping maintain and support supply chains in and out of the country at this critical time. Having previously operated these CarGo flights to the Gulf region, we have now operated these flights to Singapore from Bangalore and to Maldives from Trivandrum and Mumbai. While flying medical supplies, fresh vegetables and other export cargo, IndiGo continues to contribute and adapt its business to the needs of the hour”.

Mr Dutta further added, “We are grateful to the government for allowing to carry cargo in the cabin, which has enabled these operations during the lockdown period.”

Indigo announces self-quarantine

As per the government advisory, aviation is an essential service and our colleagues in IndiGo are supporting passengers who have to travel during these days. We have taken every possible precaution for our crew to be protected from infection during their duties. We have adequate protocols for self-quarantine in place in case its required. We are in line with respect to the DGCA guidelines and all advisories/guidelines issued, and these are being followed rigorously.  

However, there are some instances when our employees have been ostracized from their communities as a result of their line of duty and travel history. The nation gave a standing ovation to the heroes for their fight against this pandemic on March 22. Our operational crew, in all areas, play an equally important role to keep vital services intact. Our colleagues have been working selflessly to serve the country at this critical juncture. Our employees have been the front-runners in bringing our citizens back to the country and enabling them to reach their hometowns even during restricted movements.

IndiGo to add 3^rd daily flight on Chennai-Colombo route w.e.f. March 01, 2020

 

In line with its focus to enhance its international connectivity, India’s leading carrier, IndiGo today announced the launch of 6 new daily direct flights, including new connections between Bengaluru-Jeddah effective March 29, 2020 and Mumbai-Kathmandu effective June 25, 2020. The airline also announced additional frequencies between Chennai-Colombo w.e.f. March 01, 2020.

Jeddah being a hub for commercial activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the gateway for Haj and Kathmandu being the seat of Pashupatinath, IndiGo opens routes that will ease travel for pilgrimages from Bengaluru and Mumbai to Jeddah and Kathmandu, increasing social cohesion in the region. Nepal is also uniquely positioned on the global tourism map as the home of several key Hindu and Buddhist places of worship and the tallest peaks of the Himalayan range.

IndiGo to fly to one of the wonders of the world; announces Agra as its 63^rd domestic destination

-          Effective March 05, 2019, 6E to connect Agra with Bangalore; Agra-Bangalore will be exclusively operated by IndiGo under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)

 

In a bid to strengthen domestic connectivity, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, today announced Agra as its 63^rd domestic and 86^th overall destination. Agra will be the fifth city in Uttar Pradesh to be connected by IndiGo to its expansive domestic and international network. The airline already operates flights to and from Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Varanasi. The airline will operate daily non-stop flights on Agra-Bangalore route, effective March 05, 2019.

unrest situation in Assam, a few Guwahati and Dibrugarh bound IndiGo flights stand

With respect to the ongoing unrest situation in Assam, a few Guwahati and Dibrugarh bound IndiGo flights stand cancelled for December 12, 2019. 

We are operating relief flights at capped fares for passengers who are currently at these locations. 

Additionally, we are offering rescheduling/cancellation fee waiver to the passengers travelling to/from 

Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Jorhat till December 13, 2019.
