Hand in Hand India and Belstar Microfinance Limited came together to celebrate International Women’s day on 8^th March 2021 to appreciate women’s contribution to the workforce and to launch a unique app designed for digital financial inclusion of women at the bottom of the pyramid.

The Chief Guest for the virtual event was Flt Lt (Retd) Ms. Gunjan Saxena, India’s very own Kargil Girl. The event also witnessed the launch of the ‘Belstar Samrithi Mobile App’ for digital transactions by Ms Saxena in the presence of Dr Kalpana Sankar, Managing Trustee, Hand in Hand India and Managing Director, Belstar Microfinance Limited, Mr S Chandrasekar, Executive Director - Belstar Microfinance Limited, Mr. George M Jacob, Investor Director, Belstar Microfinance and other senior team members of both organizations.  Launch was also followed by live demonstration and transaction using the app.

Dr. Kalpana Sankar, Managing Director, Hand in Hand India, Said HIH India works with an integrated approach covering child labour elimination, women’s empowerment, job creation, environment, access to healthcare and skill development. While Hand in Hand India provides social capital to women.

Mrs. V Selvanayagi, Principal, Velammal Vidyalaya, Paruthipattu was honoured with 'Indian Women's Achievers Award' by YMCA in association with Fedcot & Dignity Care India on March 8th, 2021 on the occasion of International Women's Day.

She was bestowed the award for her extraordinary contribution in the field of education, a real honour on Women's Day.

இந்திய பொறியாளர்களின் சங்கம் திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி கிளை சார்பாக  சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினம் மார்ச் 09ம்  தேதி இணையவழி ஊடகவழியாக சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. விழாவினை கிளையின் தலைவர் Dr. N.குமரேசன், பேராசிரியர், தேசிய தொழில்நுட்பகழகம், திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி அவர்கள் தொடங்கி வைத்து வரவேற்புரை ஆற்றினார்.

 

 

பாரத் ஹெவி எலக்ட்ரிக்கல்ஸ் லிமிடெட், புது தில்லி  தொழில்துறை அமைப்புகள் மற்றும் தயாரிப்புகள் இயக்குநர் திருமதி ரேணுகா கெரா சர்வதேச மகளிர் தின விழாவிற்கு முதன்மை விருந்தினராக கலந்து கொண்டார். சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்தின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து அவர் பேசினார். தலைமைத்துவ குணங்கள் மற்றும் சுய மற்றும் நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சியில் பெண்களின் பொறுப்புகள் ஆகியவற்றை அவர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். உலக மகளிர் தலைவர்கள் மற்றும் இந்தியாவில் பஞ்சாயத்து பெண்கள் தலைவர்களை மேற்கோள் காட்டி சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார்

விழாவின் இறுதியில் 2021 ஆண்டிற்கான சிறந்த இளம் பெண் பொறியாளர்க்கான விருது என்.ஐ.டி திருச்சிராப்பள்ளியைச் சேர்ந்த டாக்டர் ஓ. தர்ஷனா அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது . விருது முடிவினை ஆர்.குமார் முன்னாள் பொது மேலாளர், பாரத் ஹெவி எலக்ட்ரிக்கல்ஸ் லிமிடெட் அறிவித்தார். கிளையின் தலைவர் Dr. N.குமரேசன் விருதை வழங்கினார். முன்னதாக எஸ்.சாமிதாஸ் முன்னாள் பொது மேலாளர், பாரத் ஹெவி எலக்ட்ரிக்கல்ஸ் லிமிடெட் அவர்கள் தலைமை விருந்தினரை வரவேற்று சிறப்பித்தார். கமிட்டி உறுப்பினர் டாக்டர் ஆர். மஞ்சுளா விருது பெற்றவரை வாழ்த்தி, நிகழ்ச்சியை ஒருங்கிணைத்தார்.

Young Woman Engineer Awards 2021 to Dr. O. Darshana, NIT Tiruchirappalli by The Institution of Engineers (India) Tiruchirappalli Local Centre

The Institution of Engineers (India) Tiruchirappalli Local Centre (IEI TLC ) celebrated the International Women’s Day on 09.03.2021. The function was presided over by Dr. N. Kumaresan, Chairman, IEITLC. In his presidential address he mentioned that the International Women’s Day marks a day of call for action in reducing the existing gender gap globally. The first gathering was in 1911 and since then, there has been the continuous cry for action across the globe for gender balance. He also stated that encouraging and giving qualified and competent women an opportunity to rise does not depict failure of men. It shows a readiness to Achieve, Succeed and Develop”. Hence, he therefore called on all, especially the men within Engineering & Technology space to join hands with the Women Engineers to play a critical role in helping to build a more gender-balanced world as we all work towards a balance for a better world.

Ms. Renuka Gera, Director, Industrial Systems & Products, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., New Delhi was the chief guest for the International Women’s Day function. She spoke about the significance of International Women’s Day and the theme. She mentioned ability of multitasking, leadership qualities and responsibilities of women in the development of self and country.She quoting women leaders of world and women heads of panchayat in India. She also complimented the recipient of the award for the year 2021.

As part of International Women’s Day celebrations, The Institution of Engineers, Tiruchirappalli Local Centre honours one Young women engineer in this region every year for their contribution towards Engineering and Technology. For the year 2021, Dr. O. Darshana of NIT Tiruchirappalli has been selected as the Young Woman Engineer. The Award consists of a Plaque and a Certificate. The result was announced by Er. R. Kumar, Evaluation Committee Member and Past Chairman of IEI TLC. Then Dr. N. Kumaresan, Chairman, IEI TLC presented the Young Woman Engineer Award 2021. The certificate of merit was handed over by Er. A. Anand, Hon. Secretary Tiruchirappalli Local Centre and Er. S. Samidas IEI TLC Committee Member.

In her acceptance speech, Dr. O. Darshana thanked Tiruchirappalli Local Centre for honouring the award and briefly explained her research experiences and shared her career journey. Dr. R.Manjula, IEI TLC Committee member felicitated the awardee and The program was coordinated by the Er. A. Anand, Hon. Secretary, Tiruchirappalli Local Centre and he proposed the vote of thanks.

presents Jito Master Chef was held at ITC Grand Chola Chennai

On account of the International Women’s day, JITO Ladies Wing, a city-based NGO is scouting out culinary talent at their Grand Finale of Zaayka presents Jito Master Chef, at ITC Grand Chola Chennai, today. The cook-off will be presided by celebrity chef Padmashree Sanjeev Kapoor who will later host a Fusion Cuisine Cookery session following the event.

A total of 24 contestants participated at the preliminary round held at the Accord Metropolitan Hotel. A panel of judges led by Mr Arjun Bhat,Top executive chef Accord hotels and Mr Ashutosh Nerlinkar -Top Executive chef The Park oversaw the competition were contestants were asked to produce Jain Food. Six best cooks were selected out of the lot based on the parameters of flavors, presentation, taste and texture in three categories - mocktails, starters and desserts.

When asked about the experience, sushila Lodha one of the finalist quipped” I cannot put to words how elated we are at this opportunity. I am very glad I got a chance to demonstrate my culinary skills in front of my all time favourite Sanjeev Kapoor. Watching him work his magic in the kitchen was an experience of a lifetime.

Post the cookery session results will be announced.First winner was Archana Dugar 1^st Runner up was ArunaVijay and 2^nd Runnerup was Sushila lodha All the members present for the Grand Finale event were treated to a widespread sumptuous Lunch.
