Microsoft launches Surface Laptop 4 to meet the demand of hybrid era in India

 

Microsoft India today announced the general availability of Surface Laptop 4 for commercial and education customers via authorized retailers and for consumers via Amazon.in. The latest addition to Microsoft’s varied portfolio is an innovative and versatile solution, aimed to cater to the evolving needs of users while continuing to work or learn remotely or in hybrid work environments. It empowers users to adapt to new ways of working and creating, outside of the workplace – to achieve more.

Surface Laptop 4 is first and foremost optimized for Microsoft experiences. While it retains the iconic design, details, and materials as the previous models, it will feature the signature 3:2 PixelSense high-contrast touchscreen display in both 13.5” and 15” models, and Dolby® Atmos™ Omnisonic speakers. This provides users with a cinematic experience for their favourite movies and shows from the comfort of anywhere.

Surface Laptop 4 also features a built-in HD front-facing camera with incredible, low-light capability and a studio microphone array, to enable enhanced meeting experiences at work. In addition, its large trackpad with gesture support, allows users to easily adjust to their preferred workflow.

Available in either the 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, or AMD Ryzen™ Mobile Processors with Radeon™ Graphics Microsoft Surface® Edition (8 cores), the device will power modern, multitasking demands whether at the office, living room, coffee shop or classroom.

Adapting to the security needs of our customers, Surface Laptop 4 will also offer incredible security out-of-the-box with integrated hardware, firmware, software, and identity protection. They can maintain control of sensitive information with a removable hard drive for data retention[i] and get more security and control with cloud-first device deployment and management, all the way down to the firmware layer.

The device comes in Alcantara or metal finishes in platinum and black colors.

Availability and Pricing

All customers in India can order the Surface Laptop 4 through their local commercial resellers, retail stores or on Amazon.in. Consumer SKUs will be available with no-cost EMI up to nine months, starting at Rs.11,444/month

Government Medical College, Omandurar, Chennai, a dedicated centre for COVID-19 patients has implemented a Remote Patient Monitoring Solution from Stasis, a Bangalore- based start-up to manage COVID-19 patients. By allowing medical workers to remotely monitor patients on their smartphone, laptop or central monitors, remote patient monitoring significantly reduces the frequency of contact with suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients, thereby protecting the staff and reducing the requirement for PPEs. 

The USFDA cleared, Made in India remote patient monitoring solution allows doctors to see real-time patient vitals and high-resolution trends on their smartphones or a central dashboard thereby minimizing the exposure to COVID-19 patients. By eliminating manual monitoring by the nurse, it also reduces the exposure of nurses to COVID-19 patients, and reduces the requirement of PPE.

The solution measures six core vitals - Heart rate, SpO2, ECG, respiratory rate, non-invasive blood pressure, and skin temperature. Being a plug-and-play device, it requires no additional IT infrastructure, which helps in setting up a central nursing station within hours. Further, the Stasis Smart Alert system that is powered by artificial intelligence proactively warns clinicians of an impending patient deterioration to increase patient safety through early identification and intervention.
