It has approached Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Salman Khan and his NGO Being Human in making the Guinness World Record for the World's Biggest Paralympic Cricket League a reality. Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has also been approached, sources familiar with the developments said.

The Goa Cricket League will now be known as Asian Paralympic Cricket League (in association with GCL 2019)

24 wheelchair cricket teams from different parts of India had already confirmed their participation in the Wheelchair Cricket Cup, which is part of the Goa Cricket League - GCL 2019. More than 60 differently-abled cricket teams along with 8 differently-abled women's cricket teams are participating in the event, Event Director & Chairman Flynn Remedios said, adding that theBoard of Disabled Cricket Association is now with GCL 2019 and will be a co-organiser of the Goa Cricket League along with the Disabled Sporting Society.

The GCL 2019, is slated to be one of the biggest sports events in the World till date, with  overall nearly 200 teams in the lineup, said Haroon Rasheed, Secretary of the Disabled Sporting Society.

In addition, twenty one state-level Women's Cricket teams from different States of India will participate in the Goa Cricket League as part of the Women's Cricket Series to be held in Goa in March and April, Flynn Remedios said.

As part of the Goa Cricket League, an added international attraction will be the India-Bangladesh wheelchair cricket international match which will be held in the State on 31st March 2019.

The Bangladesh team has been nominated by the Bangladesh Cricket Association, the national cricket body in the country. It will first arrive in Mumbai and will play the first match in Mumbai. The final match will be held in Goa on 31st March, Remedios said.

This match is being supported by the Bangladesh Cricket Association - the official cricket body of Bangladesh and the Disabled Sporting Society of India (DSS). This is the first time in the history of Goa that an international wheelchair cricket match is being held in the state.

Alongside this international match, for the first time in Goan history, the State will play host to 24 wheelchair cricket teams from across the length and breadth of the nation who will be part of the Goa Cricket League - GCL - 2019.

IDBI Federal Life Insurance and Sachin Tendulkar partner together to redefine the idea of Fitness for India
Launch the #KeepMoving movement focusing on both Physical and Financial Fitness as the key to a healthy lifestyle
Chennai, January 09, 2019: IDBI Federal Life Insurance, one of India’s leading private life insurance companies, together with its Brand Ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar, today announced the launch of the #KeepMoving movement which aims to redefine the idea of fitness for India. Through the movement, IDBI Federal seeks to drive home the message that in order to create and lead a healthy lifestyle, it is important to focus on both – Physical Fitness & Financial Fitness.
The #KeepMoving campaign will launch with short films featuring cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar which will encourage Indians to log onto the #KeepMoving microsite –www.keepmovingindia.com. Once on the microsite, they can then do an audit of their Physical Fitness and Financial Fitness levels by taking a short assessment test. The test results would reveal their current fitness levels on both parameters, as well as provide advice and tips to help them improve their scores.
Sharing his thoughts, legendary batsman and Brand Ambassador of IDBI Federal Life Insurance, Sachin Tendulkar said, “We see that most Indians who aspire to lead a healthy lifestyle tend to focus largely on physical fitness, while financial fitness is far lower on their list of priorities. Through the #KeepMoving movement, we aspire to change the mindsets of Indians by redefining their idea of fitness. We hope to create awareness among them that in order to truly live the lifestyle of their choice, they need to focus on both – physical fitness and financial fitness.”
Elaborating further on the movement, Vighnesh Shahane, MD & CEO, IDBI Federal Life Insurance said, “At IDBI Federal, our purpose is to empower people to create and live the lifestyle of their choice. For an individual to accomplish this, we believe that he or she needs to focus on his complete fitness, both physical and financial. It is not a choice and that is the key point that our #KeepMoving campaign aims to drive home. Helmed by our Brand Ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar, we endeavour to encourage, push and motivate the happy-to-be sedentary Indian down the path towards total fitness through this movement. This will help to build a better tomorrow, not only for the individual, but for the country as a whole.”
