 A global team of high-profile leaders from the environmental, philanthropic, business, sporting and entertainment worlds have joined Prince William as members of The Earthshot Prize Council. 

 

The Earthshot Prize, which launched today, is the most prestigious global environment prize in history and aims to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next 10 years.  The £50 million prize will provide at least 50 solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems by 2030.  Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come.  

 

The Earthshot Prize Council is a truly global list of influential individuals from a wide range of different sectors, all of whom are committed to championing positive action in the environmental space.  Joining Prince William as members of The Earthshot Prize Council today are:

 

• Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah (Jordan);
• Cate Blanchett – actor, producer and humanitarian (Australia);
• Christiana Figueres – Former UN climate chief, responsible for the landmark Paris Agreement on Climate Change (Costa Rica);
• Dani Alves – professional footballer (Brazil);
• Sir David Attenborough – broadcaster and natural historian (UK);
• Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim – environmental activist (Chad);
• Indra Nooyi – business executive and former Chairman & CEO of PepsiCo (US & India);
• Jack Ma – philanthropist, entrepreneur and UNSDG Advocate (China);
• Naoko Yamazaki – former astronaut onboard the International Space Station (Japan);
• Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala – economist and international development expert (Nigeria);
• Shakira – singer and philanthropist (Colombia);
• Yao Ming - Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and environmentalist (China).

 

In the coming months, further members of The Earthshot Prize Council will be announced as the global coalition supporting the Prize expands.

 

Every year from 2021 until 2030, The Earthshot Prize Council will award The Earthshot Prize to five winners, one per Earthshot, whose evidence-based solutions make the most progress towards the five Earthshots:

 

• Protect and restore nature
• Clean our air
• Revive our oceans
• Build a waste-free world
• Fix our climate

 

A distinguished panel of experts will support the judging process, making recommendations to the Prize Council who will select the final winners. The Prize could be awarded to a wide range of individuals, teams or collaborations – scientists, activists, economists, leaders, governments, banks, businesses, cities, and countries – anyone who is making a substantial development or outstanding contribution to solving these environmental challenges.  Each winner will receive a one million-pound reward that will be used to support agreed environmental and conservation projects as well as large-scale public recognition and significant support to scale their solution.

 

To mark the launch of the Prize, a short film has been released which sees Prince William and Sir David Attenborough together at Kensington Palace, speaking about their passion for the environment and the critical role that The Earthshot Prize can play in repairing our planet over the next ten years.  The film also features each of the 11 other announced members of The Earthshot Prize Council, who explain their motivations for becoming involved in The Earthshot Prize and the differing environmental challenges faced globally.  The film can be viewed at www.earthshotprize.org.

 

Over the course of the next decade, The Earthshot Prize will find and highlight the most inspiring solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.  But the Prize is about much more than awarding achievement – it is a decade of action to convene the environmental world with funders, businesses and individuals to maximise impact and take solutions to scale, to celebrate the people and places driving change; and to inspire people all over the world to work together to repair the planet.

பிரபல திரைப்பட நடிகர்களான உதயா மற்றும் அம்மு இக்குறும்படத்தின் முன்னணி கதாபாத்திரங்களை ஏற்று நடித்துள்ளனர்.

குறும்படத்தைப் பற்றி மேலும் குறிப்பிட வேண்டிய ஒரு முக்கிய செய்தி என்னவென்றால் இது உலகம் கொரோனாவால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு அவதிப்படும் பொழுது நடக்கும் கதையாக திகழ்கிறது. அதாவது, இந்த கதை, இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் நடக்கும் ஒரு கதை.

Manobala In Association with Trend Loud Presents A Gripping & Emotional Short film

“Nannayam”

Eminent director, actor and producer Manobala's firm, Picture House, in association with TrendLoud, one of the finest digital services firms in the country, is all set to entertain viewers with an engaging, entertaining and meaningful short film titled Nannayam on VisionTime YouTube Channel.

Well known film actors Udhaya and Ammu play the lead in this short film which will also feature established film actors like Jayaprakash and Sathyapriya in important roles.

The short film is a poignant tale about a girl who is tossed between her hardcore casteist father and her activist boyfriend who aspires a casteless society. Interestingly, the story is set in this day and age when the world has been thrown out of order by the Covid 19 pandemic.

Directed by Manobala, a man known not only for his terrific sense of humour and timing but also for his ability to call a spade a spade, the deeply engaging and entertaining short film raises very valid questions in the minds of the viewers by the time it concludes.

Talking about the short film and his firm's association with director Manobala, TrendLoud CEO Chidambaram said, "Trend Loud is happy to be associated with ace director and actor Manobala who is well known for his family entertainers. We hope that this short film is received well by one and all.  We intend to work on many more such meaningful projects in the future as well." 

Shot by talented cinematographer Gopi Krishnan, the short film has been tightly edited by the watchful and observant G Umapathy. Music for the short film has been scored by Ajeesh, a gifted singer himself.

A teaser of the short film will be released on July 6 (Monday), 2020. Details of when the short film is to release will be announced soon.

Already, expectations about Nannayam have risen as it comes from the stable of two of the most reputed entities in the market -- Picture House and TrendLoud.

Ammy Virk on his new song Main Suneya.

Songs have become the most important element in our lives ever since we all are in this worldwide lockdown. The giant music label T-Series is routinely releasing back to back songs on their YouTube channel. This preparedness of the label has surely helped them keep their consistency in releasing the songs and entertain the audience in the trying times.

They have now collaborated with the heartthrob Punjabi singer and actor Amninderpal Singh Virk a.k.a Ammy Virk who garnered immense popularity for his song Qismat. T-Series and Ammy Virk will soon release their new song ‘Main Suneya’ which is a song that depicts heart-break. The song has a great storyline of two lovers who part their ways and later meet after years with an emotional twist in their lives.

Sharing about the song Ammy says, “Firstly, I feel lucky that I am able to entertain my fans during these trying times and for that, I thank T-Series for giving me this opportunity. ‘Main Suneya’ is all about love, mistake, betrayal, and realization. I always believe that as a singer I should make good music but I am an actor too, so I try and make the songs a visual treat for my audience. So, I love to make music videos which are more like a short film.”

He further adds, “Even though it is a music video, I always prefer to make it as a film, and in the video too we write ‘A Film By…’. The main reason people loved Qismat was its appealing storyline and I am sure that they will shower more love on Main Suneya once it is out.”

Featuring Ammy Virk and Simran Hundal, T-Series’ Main Suneya is releasing on 28th May. The song is sung by Ammy Virk, composed by SunnyVik Check Spelling, beautifully penned by Raj Fatehpur and it is helmed by director Navjit Buttar.

இரண்டு பாடல்களையும் எழுதி இசையமைத்து அதை படமாக்கி இயக்கிய தினகரனுக்கு பொன்னாடை அணிவித்து கேடயம் வழங்கி இயக்குனர் பவித்ரன் பாராட்டி பேசுகையில் " இதில் நடித்து பாடல் எழுதி, இசையமைத்து, நடித்து தயாரித்து திரைப்படம் போல் உருவாக்கி உள்ள தினகரன் பாராட்டுக்குரியவர். தினகரன் கட்டுமஸ்தான உடலில் ஆணழகன் போல் உள்ளார். இந்த ஆல்பத்தில் அவருடைய நடிப்பு நன்றாக உள்ளது. இவர் தமிழ்திரை உலகில் நுழைந்தால் பிரமாதமாக இருக்கும். ஏனென்றால் தமிழ் திரை உலகில் இப்பொழுது ஆக்ஷன் ஹீரோ இடம் காலியாக உள்ளது. அந்த இடத்தை முழு முயற்சியுடன் ஈடுபட்டால் தினகரன் ஆக்ஷன் ஹீரோக வலம் வரலாம்" என்று பேசினார்.
