Actor Bose Venkat on success of Kanni Maadam first look

Actor Bose Venkat on success of Kanni Maadam first look

Actor Bose Venkat is high spirited and greatly rejoicing over the decorous reception for the first look of his forthcoming film “Kanni Maadam” that marks his directorial debut. With actor Suriya launching the first look, which has a unique design capturing everyone’s interest, the actor says, “If not for the great hearted gesture of Suriya sir, this would have not been possible. I am really thankful for his support towards the film by launching the first look.  I am also happy about the way, people have received it. I thank each and every Netizen, press and media for making the first look gain a good reach. Kanni Maadam is based on some of the real life incidents, which I encountered during my initial days in Chennai as auto-rickshaw driver. To be more precise, this is purely inspired from the incidents that happened at my neighbor’s home.”

On briefing about the significance of title and its relevance to the film, Bose Venkat says, “As I have already mentioned, one among the inspirations is drawn from Sandilyan’s novel with the same name that centers on impenetrable fortress for women. In another context, Kanni Maadam is observed as a memorial place, where people light lamps in remembrance of their family members and close ones, who have passed away. In some localities, it is a place where girls are forced to stay inside after they attain puberty.”

Featuring newcomers Sriram and Gayathri in lead roles, Kanni Maadam has Aadukalam Murugadass, Gajaraj, Valeena Princes, Vishnu Ramasamy and Super Good Subramani appearing in important roles. Bankrolled by Hasheer for Rooby Films, the film is shot across Mettu Kuppam, Vijayaraghava Puram and Choolaimedu in Chennai. The musical score by Hari Sai has lots of surprise baggage that includes Robo Shankar rendering his voice for a song followed by big names like Antony Dasan and few others. Harris J Iniyan (Cinematography), Rishal Jaini (Editor), Siva Shankar (Art), Viveka (Lyrics) and Dinesh Subbarayan (Choreographer) are the others in the technical crew.

VR CHENNAI presents the 11th edition of “KATHAI, KALAI, PARAMPARIYAM” WALKS

VR CHENNAI presents the 11th edition of “KATHAI, KALAI, PARAMPARIYAM” WALKS
 – a unique opportunity to discover the stories that shaped Chennai through Culture,
History & Art on 14th December 2019 at 10.30 am

Curated by VR Chennai and conducted by historian V. Sriram, the “Kathai, Kalai, Parampariyam” Walks trace the rich heritage of South India by way of art, design and architecture. This special Margazhi edition of the walk will see Carnatic Music Maestro Ashwath Narayanan accompanying Mr. Sriram.

The Virtuous Retail philosophy of “Connecting Communities ©” draws from the concept of creating lifestyle centres that bring people together and strengthen social pride while reflecting local aesthetics. The city of Chennai is a fascinating blend of the mighty southern dynasties, the charming Madras of yore and the ambitions of the modern-day city.

The process of translating Virtuous Retail’s design ethos and vision into reality has been backed by extensive research into the art, architecture, culture and history of the region. As part of its commitment to encourage and nurture indigenous craft, VR Chennai has actively tried to engage with local artists and artisans. The collective of exquisite, especially commissioned artworks at VR Chennai, has been created in partnership with acclaimed artists and guilds such as Kalarings Art Studio, Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Klove Studio, Satish Gupta and Sri Sankara Silpa Sala, amongst others.

The Kathai, Kalai, Parampariyam Walks have been designed to take our visitors, across age groups, through a narrative of the rich heritage of this region. Thousands of man-hours have gone into handcrafting the art and in curating this one-of-a-kind experience, to perfection.

The Kathai walk explores the mythical tales of the Dasavataram, the 10 primary forms of Lord Vishnu, the inspiration of which stems from the discovery of the earliest known epigraph found in the Adi-Varaha Temple in Mahabalipuram (erstwhile Mamallapuram), a shore town not very far from Chennai. It marks the earliest known instance where all the 10 avatars are mentioned in one place. Modern interpretations of the Dasavataram are found scattered across the Centre waiting to be explored.

The Kalai walk showcases the indigenous art and architecture of the region through the multiple element that have been incorporated in the contemporary design of the centre including the soaring Gopurams and their intricately carved bases, the pillared mandapams and various bell installations at each of the four entrances, all an ode to the traditional temple architecture with a contemporary and sometimes playful twist.

Finally, the Parampariyam walk features a depiction of the tradition and history of this great city and stories behind them in the form of maps, motifs, coins and seals all etched into stone and a not-to-miss hand-painted mural, which traces the historical and cultural legacy of Chennai, detailing the evolution of the city from 250,000 BC through colonial era till present day.

Each work of art that is featured in the Kathai, Kalai, Parampariyam Walks is the result of extensive research and painstaking processes undertaken by the team at Virtuous Retail to create an atmosphere of artistic immersion for all who visit.

The previous editions of the walks have seen active participation of various groups from across the city, including the Duchess Club and The International Women’s Association (IWA). Chennai is home to many of us; yet not many know the story of its origin & transformation into the cosmopolitan City it is today. Kathai Kalai Parampariyam walks intend to fill this gap, to remind and to educate the people about the importance of their City in the pages of history.

UDHAYANIDHI STALIN TEAMS UP WITH MYSSKIN

UDHAYANIDHI STALIN TEAMS UP WITH
MYSSKIN FOR ‘PSYCHO’ PRESS RELEASE

UDHAYANIDHI STALIN TEAMS UP WITH MYSSKIN FOR ‘PSYCHO’

Sudden rushes of excitements are finding its way across nook and corners of the K-Town. Absolutely, the reason behind such exclamatory moments is announcement involving Mysskin’s new film titled ‘Psycho’. Of course, it has become much more intensified with the big names like Maestro Ilayaraja, P.C. Sriram, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari, Nithya Menen, Ram and few more involved.

“It’s always a delight to have a filmmaker like Mysskin sir, who is known for breaking the stereotypical barriers and offer unconventional showpieces. Moreover, his ability to present even the exceptional ones with an engrossing package makes him a producer-friendly filmmaker,” says producer Arun Mozhi Manickam, who continues to send forth his awe-inspired moment about the technicians involved in the film… “What else can you ask for when the elite magicians of music and visuals – Maestro Ilayaraja and Cinematographer P.C. Sriram come together for a film? It’s not about the Tamil audience, but their versatility has wowed everyone on the global panorama. Just as everyone is invigorated over their collaboration, I’m also literally excited to see their magic together.”

Talking about an unusual yet attention grabbing star-cast, producer Arun Mozhi Manickam says, “Most of the times, it happens that decisions pertaining to the star-cast are inclined towards a director’s mindset. But with Mysskin sir, it’s completely different. Although, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari, Nithya Menen and Ram were his firm choices, we had no second thoughts after hearing the script. In fact, even we would have preferably come up with the same names if Mysskin sir had offered us to suggest.”

The film produced by Arun Mozhi Manickam of Double Meaning Productions will be an edge-seated psychological thriller presented in trademark style of Mysskin.
