After working on movies like Wazir, Table No. 21, Shaitaan; Abhijeet Deshpande’s is all set for his directorial debut, ‘Ani…Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar’. Amongst the array of iconic Marathi stars, Abhijeet chose to bring Dr Ghanekar's life in the forefront. Today, the director feels elated to talk about the most ambitious project he started off six years ago.

He says, “I have looked up to Dr Ghanekars life as an inspiration. Although, his life sketch was complex and dramatic, I was fascinated by his personality. He brought a new era into the Marathi industry altogether and shifted viewers outlook/ perception from class to mass. It has been an experience of a lifetime to recreate his persona onscreen.’’

Presented by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, 'Ani...Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar' is the biopic of Marathi theatre’s first superstar Dr Kashinath Ghanekar starring Subodh Bhave, Sumeet Raghavan, and Sonali Kulkarni and is directed by Abhijeet Deshpande. The movie is set to release on November 8th, 2018.
