Saaho Charts Big at the Box Office as it recovers the 350 Cr budget

The high octane action film Saaho starring Prabhas has grossed 424 crores worldwide and  300 crore plus net in Indian market alone through all the languages it was released in, which have turned it into a commercially successful venture by the end of the second week. 

Saaho is definitely a commercial blockbuster at the box office,with the production having an own release not only in the Hindi version but also in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The Hindi version of Saaho has received a roaring response in Karnataka and Hyderabad with limited screens has garnered 5.80 crores and 3.40 crores respectively. The Net collection of Hindi version in South is 9.20 crores and in the North is 140 crores,which make it a total of  149.20 crores net of the hindi version alone 

 

The numbers are definitely depicting Prabhas as the undisputed PAN India star, a testimony of the same are the film's collection across the nation. Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam version of the film has collected 110.4 crores net in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. In Karnataka, it has collected 26.30 crores and in Tamilnadu & Kerala marked 13.80 crores net which makes it a roaring 150.5 crores net in south india alone.

The magic of  Prabhas's stardom has no boundaries as the film is doing great in the overseas market too. The number looks great, in North America collection stands at 3.2 million, Gulf at 4 million, Australia and New  Zealand numbers stand at 1.3 million, UK & Europe collected 0.8 million,and other countries at 2 million taking the Overseas gross total of  Saaho to $11.3 million,whereas the Overseas has been sold for 42 crores INR.

The digital,satellite and music rights have been sold by the production house for 130 Crores.

Saaho  has easily recovered the production cost in its 2nd-weekend collection nationwide. The abundance fan following of Prabhas has shown it time and again that Prabhas is an undisputed PAN India superstar. 

Saaho marks as Prabhas's exemplary Bollywood debut and is surely turning out to be the biggest Bollywood debut ever and the superstar is surely being hailed as a Pan India star with such great numbers in even the Hindi version.

'Saaho' is a high octane action thriller which is presented by T-Series, produced by UV Creations and directed by Sujeeth, released and hooting great numbers on the box office proving Prabhas to be the Pan India star, all across.

The mammoth ‘Saaho’ is all set to storm in theatres from August 30 worldwide and the team was present in Chennai to promote the film. The dais looked amazingly sparkled with the hottest hunks Prabhas and Arun Vijay along with the angelic Shraddha Kapoor, brainiac filmmaker Sujeeth, Music director Ghibran, Studio Green Films K.E. Gnanavel Raja, Production Designer Sabu Cyril and Pramod, one of the producers of UV Creations behind Saaho.

Here are some of the excerpts from the grand event.

K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films, “This event is something nostalgically positive to me as the press meet of Baahubali happened in the same place. There is a particular dialogue in the film, where Prabhas speaks about hitting ‘Sixer’ and I am sure Prabhas will make an impressive show. I am aware of the production of Vamsi and Pramod Anna. Although, I was aware of the money they have invested, I was spellbound over the grandeur when watching the trailer. I am sure, the audience will definitely have a big blast of celebrations. Trailers have become the major pillar of a film and have a good impact on the release and reception. After Saaho, it is so much evidence that people have got to know what the film is all about. When compared to other versions, Baahubali – The Beginning had a very good opening in Tamil Nadu and same will be with Saaho. A player can hit six, but among this team of 11, 7 of them belong to our region including Arun Vijay, Ghibran and even Sujeeth, who is a graduate from Prasad Film Institute.”

Music director Ghibran said, “Right from our childhood, we were always impressed with the Hollywood movies like Fast and Furious, Mission Impossible, etc, where we desired it happens in India as well. I am now extremely happy that our dreams are coming true through Saaho. Working with the majestic orchestra at Budapest, it was much more enthralling and challenging. The instrumentalists were very much excited as well as working with us and they wanted to watch the movie as well. The challenging part of BGM in Saaho was the last 2 reels and it was really amazing. I am sure, the audience will have a big-time watching this movie in the theatres.”

Production Designer Sabu Cyril, “It was pretty much challenging and with the producers spending so much money, I had excessive responsibility of bringing the best in me. The set works are made in such a way that it will look like real locations. Since there are lots of actions involved in the film and we had erect around 60-70 sets. I remember designing a stretch of Abu Dhabi road, which will be one of the greatest highlights. This is a movie you must watch in theatres just like how you enjoyed Avengers. It will definitely be a worthy watch. I have been a hardcore James Bond fan from childhood and I assure Saaho will be an Indian James Bond Film.”

Arun Vijay said, “Soon after the release of Yennai Arindhaal, I was getting more opportunity in Telugu industry and I was patiently waiting for the right opportunity. Sujeeth might look young, but his works are really magical. The way how he handles all the artistes and such a big league of technicians for the span of 2 years is marvelous. I also thank the producers for banking their hopes on him. Prabhas could have easily leaped into a bigger project with A-league directors,  but then he chose this film and was completely professional looking carefully into minute roles. This is the first time, I am a part of the trilingual film and it was really enjoyable and challenging as well. I was told by the makers that my role is Manoj and I acted with the same mindset but was surprised to see a new name as Vishwank. So I really don’t know how my character is getting delineated here. Everyone on the sets was amazing including Shraddha Kapoor”

Director Sujeeth said, “Chennai is my home and I spent my childhood here and I converse my dad regularly in Tamil. Working with producers Vamsi and Pramod is like a reunion with my brothers as they produced by the first film.  Writing script is the biggest challenge and once done, it’s half job over. Then getting the right technicians onboard will surely let our work get easier. Sabu Cyril would be visiting the sets of Baahubali regularly and during the night, we would discuss the script of Saaho. Later, the big names like Madhie sir, Sreekar Prasad sir, and others did a greater job, which is now witnessed over the film’s result. It’s a good expectation mounting up for Prabhas after Baahubali and is really sure audience will enjoy his show.”

Actress Shraddha Kapoor said, “Everything that happened in Saaho was something magical. If you’re asking me why I chose Saaho, you need to put forward this question on the producers and team. I am really lucky to be a part of India’s biggest action thriller, especially with an actor like Prabhas and a multi-lingual project. A woman doing action is something really challenging and am looking forward to a good reception here.”

Actor Prabhas said, “The experience is very much amazing and journey of 2 years was more enthralling. I cannot compare both Baahubali and Saaho as they belong to different worlds. Except for the similarity on ‘Action’, they have a different premise and treatment is completely unique. I am sure one-day Sujeeth will definitely become huge and phenomenal than SS Rajamouli sir. Shraddha Kapoor is more like a Tomb Raider in the movie.  Saaho is going to be first of its kind experience for action film lovers in India. There is a special surprise for Tamil Nadu audiences on August 23 and it will be a delight for them indeed.”

 The much-awaited track Enni Soni from Saaho sung by Tulsi Kumar and Guru Randhawa dropped on the internet recently and the song has received some rave appreciation. The song is also said to be Shraddha Kapoors’ favorite from the Saaho album and has already crossed over 50 million + views in a small span of time.

Dhvani-Sachet promotes Psycho Saiyaan at pubs in Mumbai

 Dhvani Bhanushali’s recent number ‘Psycho Saiyaan’ from ‘Saaho’, starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor has been creating a lot of buzz around the audience with its appealing lyrics and music. With the track being an instant favourite among the party goers, the young singer was recently spotted pub crawling in Mumbai along with the singer Sachet Tandon.

Launched in four languages – Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, the song has already gained more than 26 million views in less than a week. Sachet has sung the song in Hindi while Dhvani has crooned it in all four languages.

Saaho, the action thriller is in the last leg of its shoot. The final schedule of the film and two songs were shot in several locations across Innsbruck and in Tirol region of Austria. The lead duo Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor and choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant arrived at Innsbruck with the crew for the final schedule of the Sujeeth-directed multilingual, Saaho. The film stars Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Murali Sharma, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vennela Kishore, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey and Mandira Bedi.

Looking at recent stills from our shots across Innsbruck and Tirol region, it seems as though the locations seamlessly inculcate with the picturesque sequences of our high-octane action thriller.

The shoot initially began in the Alpine city of Innsbruck. The city beautifully blends raw breathtaking landscapes with an imperial city center. This juxtaposition is what really attracted ‘Saaho’ to shoot across Innsbruck including the House of Music, the Innsbruck tram, Finstertal Dam in Kühtai, as well as at the aDLERS hotel. Some scenes were also shot at nearby town of Seefeld. Additionally, we had the privilege and support to shoot for a romantic song at the ‘Top of Tyrol’ mountain at Stubaier Glacier and Gaislachkogel IceQ in Sölden which was one of the most memorable experiences for our crew. Some parts of the romantic song we also filmed at the Highline Suspension Bridge in Reutte.

For our upcoming Song, we filmed at Salzburg Airport in Red Bull’s Hangar 7. Along with the talented dancers from Red Bull Flying Steps the scenes truly came together beautifully within the glass dome after which the crew celebrated the wrap of the Austria Schedule.

“Shooting in Tirol was one of the most incredibly awesome experiences I have ever had” said lead actor Prabhas.

“The shooting locations in Austria were the most spectacular ones where we managed to capture some breathtaking shots for our Film - Saaho” said Producer Pramod Uppalapati.
