LEAD School’s
Statement on Pragyata
The MHRD guidelines clearly define synchronous and asynchronous learning. The restrictions
suggested by MHRD are applicable on synchronous learning and not on asynchronous learning.
Synchronous learning is “real-time teaching and learning that can happen collaboratively and
at the same time with a group of online learners or even individually, and usually a teacher, or
some method of instant feedback”. Asynchronous learning is anytime, anywhere but not
connected in real time. The time limits recommended by MHRD are as follows:
Class Synchronous learning time per day Asynchronous learning time per day 30 minutes No limits prescribed Class 1 to 8 90 minutes No limits prescribed Class 9 to 12 180 minutes No limits prescribed LEAD School’s method of learning is asynchronous. Students can access learning

Pre-primary 30 minutes No limits prescribed

LEAD School’s method of learning is asynchronous. Students can access learning content
through the LEAD Parent App “anytime, and anywhere”. For the duration of our online classes, in addition to MHRD guidelines, we have also looked at guidelines issued by WHO on screen time and used data from our own experience of running the largest online school with over 3,00,000 students and over 18 million class views to ensure following class duration with adequate breaks:
Class LEAD Sc hool@Home learning time per day
Pre-primary Integrated Curriculum, Parent Assisted
Total: 30 minutes
Class 1 to 5 English, Math, EVS classes per day
Total duration: 90 to 120 minutes
Class 6 to 8 English, Math, Science, Social Science classes per day
Total duration: 120 to 160 minutes
Class 9 English, Math, Science, Social Science classes per day
Total duration: 120 to 160 minutes
Our team is closely monitoring the government regulations and we have a team of
experts working tirelessly to ensure we continue to offer ‘uninterrupted learning’ to
our students
