Five day national workshop
on the topic “Perspectives and Challenges in Outcome Based Research”

the aegis of AICTE-MARGDHARSHAN Scheme, from July 13 – 17, 2020 at
9.00 a.m through Video Conferencing (MS-Teams Platform) under the
aegis of AICTE-Margadarshan Scheme.
More than 100 faculty members have registered for the workshop from
various Mentee Intitutions.

Brief Write up: NIT Tiruchirappalli is organizing a National Workshop
on “Perspectives and Challenges in Outcome Based Research” under the
aegis of AICTE-MARGDHARSHAN Scheme, from July 13 – 17, 2020 (via video
conferencing). The target audience would be Faculty members,
Scientists, Engineers, Technologists and Research students from
academic institutions, Research organizations and industry, young
scientists and other stakeholders.
Margdharshan Scheme is all about Mentoring the institutes by a well
performing Institute (NIT Tiruchirappalli). The Hub ‘n Spoke system is
to be established by an Institute of repute as a Mentor within an
existing facility to serve as the hub to guide and disperse knowledge
to ten technical institutions to encourage best practices. The
secondary branches, the spokes, are additional services provided to
faculty for self-improvement.
This workshop is designed to enlighten the researchers on topics of
utmost importance for an effective research program. It is also aimed
at encouraging the participants at the undergraduate/post graduate
level to take up quality and outcome based research work. The
programme would enlighten the participants through lectures on
Research of National Importance, Research Methodology, Technical
Writing, Industrial Perspective Towards Research, Data analysis,
Modelling Skills, Creativity in Research; Ethics in Research, Copy
Rights/Plagiarism Issues, Intellectual Property Rights, Research
Tools, Optimisation, Machine learning and more.
We have invited esteemed speakers from the academia, industry and
research institutes. We would have with us Padma Shri Dr. T. Ramasami
( Former Secretary, DST), Mr.Nitin Kanwade (GM Manufacturing, TATA
Motors) during the Inauguration, followed by a line of speakers such
as Mr.Kalaiselvan (Senior Director, CDAC Trivandrum), Dr PR
Venkateshwaran (Manager, ERI, BHEL Trichy), Dr. Sridharan (Prof./ NIT
Calicut), Dr.Deep Kiran (IIT Roorkee), Dr Abheejeet Mohapatra (IIT
