VELAMMAL EXCELS AT THE NATIONAL CHESS TOURNEY
Miss G Tejeswini, Std X, Velammal Vidyalaya, West Campus has clinched
the gold medal and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 at the National Under - 14
Girls Chess Championships - 2021 held virtually between 19th June and
21st June, 2021.
The young player marked her achievement with a score of 10.5 out of 11 making it a draw at the finals and qualifying her for the World Youth Chess Championship 2021, (U-14) category which is scheduled in August.
The tournament was organized by All India Chess Federation where 324 young chess players across India participated.
The School Management congratulates her on her magnanimous victory and wishes her success in her future endeavours.
