Kriti Sanon Reflects on the Emotional Weight and Complexity of Playing Mukti in Tere Ishk Mein

*Kriti Sanon Reflects on the Emotional Weight and Complexity of Playing Mukti in Tere Ishk Mein*

_Tere Ishk Mein will release in cinemas on 28th November in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu._

The makers of the movie Tere Ishk Mein dropped the trailer of the film, and the reaction was instant within moments of its release. The A. R. Rahman's musical didn’t just release; it resonated. Within minutes, it lit up timelines, sparking conversations, fan theories, and a wave of excitement around the film’s raw and stirring love story. Helmed by Aanand L Rai, and backed by Bhushan Kumar, the trailer raced to 90.24 million views across platforms, a number that reflects just how deeply audiences are already connecting with this world, its characters and the emotions it promises to unfold.

As the chatter grew, Kriti Sanon opened up about stepping into the layered and demanding world of her character Mukti. *Sharing her honest take on the same, the actress said,* “Mutki’s character has a very diverse graph, what she starts from, what she ends up becoming, her choices, her decisions.. there are a lot of layers to what she is doing. A lot is sometimes not said, a lot of justification, a lot of things why she is doing what she is, not said in words. There is no dialogue at times to help you and it just has to be translated in your eyes. That was something new and I really enjoyed it.”

Expressing with an emotional honesty that reflected the weight she held while bringing Mukti to life, Kriti also spoke about the mental and physical exhaustion of shooting the most intense scenes of the film. *She added,* “There are a lot of really intense scenes, the pre climax and the climax, which are very very long. That was very draining and we shot it for about 5-6 days. Both physically and emotionally those scenes were extremely draining. I could feel that low energy in everyone around on set and could even feel it in my vanity with my team. At times when I went back home it stayed with me, I felt extremely drained. That scene is the peak of emotions and probably the most intense bit of the film, and it pulled me down the most.”

Kriti’s reflections reveal the intensity poured into Tere Ishk Mein, offering a glimpse into the inner fragility and strength required to embody Mukti. With Rahman’s music already winning hearts and the trailer continuing to hold strong, her performance is shaping up to be one of the standout elements of the film, promising honesty, vulnerability, and a depth that lingers long after the screen fades.

Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow present Tere Ishk Mein, produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film directed by Aanand L Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, is an A.R. Rahman musical with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, the film is scheduled to release worldwide in Hindi and Tamil on 28th November 2025.
