Known for his gritty roles in films like Avatar franchise and Don't Breathe, Stephen Lang is gearing up for his upcoming film Sisu: Road to Revenge. His arrival in the film adds a new layer of intensity to the franchise. Reflecting on his collaboration with writer-director Jalmari Helander and his anticipation for sharing the screen with Jorma Tommila, Stephen offers insights into the creative process behind shaping his character, Dragunov. 

​As a newcomer to the world of Sisu, Stephen Lang was grateful for Helander’s expertise and openness in defining Dragunov. “Before we started shooting,” the actor remembers, “Jalmari and I would talk about the script and his plans. Jalmari was so generous in soliciting my input for the character and the motivations. So, before we even arrived on set, I was enjoying working with him. He’s got a great sense of humor and knows what he wants.”

Stephen says he was “blown away” by Tommila’s performance in the first film and is eager for audiences to see Dragunov and Aatami battle. He says, "Jorma’s performance as Aatami is strong and powerful, yet also emotional. He brings a grittiness to the role, as well as an authenticity and a reality, so he’s just perfect.”

Written and directed by Jalmari Helander, and produced by Mike Goodridge and Petri Jokiranta, the film stars Jorma Tommila, Richard Brake, and Stephen Lang among others.
