Filmmaker and director Prabhu Jayaram who had created a sensation with his debut film “yennanga Saar unga Sattam”  that was a good hit in the OTT circles marks his directorial presence in this film.

Tamil cinema has long celebrated the bond between siblings, from timeless classics such as Paasa Malar to the 1990s gem Kizhakku Cheemaiyile, and the blockbuster Vedalam, the brother-sister sentiment has remained a beloved narrative, transcending generations and genres.

Carrying forward this cherished tradition, Passion Studios now presents an emotionally rich and engaging story titled My Dear Sister. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios in association with Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms. Direction is by Prabhu Jayaram, who earned critical acclaim for his debut feature Ennanga Sir Unga Sattam.

Even before its official launch, My Dear Sister has been the subject of much anticipation, thanks to its unexpected yet compelling casting. The film brings together Arulnithi, known for his content-driven roles, and Mamtha Mohandas, celebrated for her versatility and depth. The duo will portray a brother-sister relationship central to the film’s emotional core.

Music director Nivas Prassana who is riding on the wave of success after the stupendous musical journey with “Bison” is the music director.   My dear sister the film has got seven songs that are sure to capture the imagination of the music lovers.  

The project was officially announced through a captivating visual promo, capturing a light-hearted tug-of-war between the two leads, an unscripted, spontaneous moment filmed on set. The video not only reflects their natural chemistry but also subtly hints at the playful conflict and emotional resonance that form the heart of My Dear Sister.

According to director Prabhu Jayaram says, “The film’s narrative centres on the ideological clash between the protagonist Pachai Krishnan, a staunch male chauvinist, and his elder sister Nirmala Devi, a committed feminist. The concept behind the visual promos draws inspiration from real-life light-hearted exchanges between Arulnithi and Mamtha Mohandas on the shooting sets. These moments have been subtly woven into the promotional material, reflecting the essence of their on-screen character dynamics in an indirect yet engaging manner.

The postproduction work is on the verge of completion. The first look of the film that was released today shows the siblings in the same weightage and it is that the content of the film.  Equality in the gender both in social and family lives.
