 IndiGo operated over 800 flights, repatriated 150,000 passengers in less than 3 months

Continuing with its mission to work together and support the nation in the current situation, IndiGo has operated more than 800 charter flights while repatriating 150,000 passengers from the Gulf Cooperation Council, South East Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States and SAARC countries from June, 2020 till Aug, 2020. The airline operated international flights from Middle Eastern countries including UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and from other Asian nations like Maldives, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR of China with Russia, Uzbekistan and Philippines being the latest additions to its international repatriation efforts. IndiGo operated these flights while adhering to all the precautionary measures, ensuring a safe and hassle-free travel experience on-board a lean clean flying machine.

SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline and the biggest air cargo operator, will operate nine charter flights to evacuate over 1500 Indian students stranded in Kyrgyzstan for over two months. This special repatriation mission to help bring back home stranded Indian students from Kyrgyzstan has been undertaken by SpiceJet in association with film actor Sonu Sood.

SpiceJet operated the first charter flight from Bishkek to bring back 135 students to their hometown of Varanasi today. The airline will be operating more charter flights from Bishkek to various Indian cities in the coming days.

Amidst the greatest crisis ever to hit global aviation, SpiceJet has emerged as India’s Number One Cargo Company. When most wouldn’t venture out of their homes, SpiceJet has operated over 4300 cargo flights and transported over 24,000 tons of cargo – this is more than double of all domestic airlines combined together – carrying medicines and medical equipment and fruits and vegetables to all corners of India and the world.

SpiceJet has operated over 400 charter flights to help repatriate close to 65,000 stranded citizens from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Sri Lanka. The airline has operated multiple flights for seafarers in addition to operating several charters within the country. In addition, SpiceJet has also operated many domestic charter flights to help foreign nationals reach key metros like Delhi from where they could fly back to their respective countries.

In addition to the charter flights, SpiceJet has been actively participating in the Vande Bharat Mission. The airline is operating 25 flights under VBM to bring back more than 4500 Indian nationals from Ras Al-Khaimah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Muscat and Dammam to Ahmedabad, Goa and Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Mumbai.

SpiceJet to operate 25 flights under Vande Bharat Mission

SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline and the biggest air cargo operator, is operating 25 flights under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM). The airline will help bring back close to 4500 Indians stranded in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman under VBM.

The airline has operated six flights under VBM from Ras Al-Khaimah, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam so far bringing back over a thousand Indian nationals to Ahmedabad, Goa and Jaipur. The airline will operate another 19 flights this month from Ras Al-Khaimah, Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh and Muscat to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Mumbai.

In addition to operating flights under the VBM, SpiceJet has operated over 200 charter flights from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Sri Lanka helping over 30,000 stranded Indian nationals fly back home.

SpiceJet has operated 3512 cargo flights since the lockdown began and carried around 20200 tons of cargo --- this is more than double of all domestic airlines combined together. SpiceJet’s international cargo network now spans over 40 countries with the airline operating regular flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kabul, Kyrgyzstan, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Myanmar, Moscow, Shanghai, Singapore, Sharjah, Tashkent and a host of other places.

SpiceJet operated the country’s first cargo-on-seat flight on April 7 carrying vital supplies in passenger cabin & belly space. Since then, the airline has been regularly deploying its B737 and Q400 passenger aircraft to carry cargo in the passenger cabin.
