Immensely talented music director and bankable star G V Prakash is for the first time going to auction his songs on the Binance app.

The move is being hailed as the first of its kind in the digital world!

This is the first time, not just in Tamil Nadu but in India, that an artist is auctioning his works on the NFT Market place.

G V Prakash is auctioning six songs and has set their starting price at five Ethereum.

To better understand G V Prakash's masterstroke, one would have to gain a proper  understanding of the NFT concept.

The concept works on blockchain technology just like how cryptocurrency does.

As the transactions are secure and transparent in systems using the Block Chain technology, they make the services of intermediary entities such as banks redundant.  
 
Although both NFT and cryptocurrency work on Blockchain technology, they are slightly different from one another.

You can give one bitcoin and buy another bitcoin. But, you cannot buy one NFT by giving another NFT.

NFT was first introduced in 2017 in an online game called Crypto Kitties. The kittens that appear in the online game were purchased and that is how NFT came into being.

Nowadays, buying land in the real world is losing traction. What is in vogue is the tendency to buy land in the virtual world(virtual reality)!

Work on GV Prakash's romantic thriller film begins with pooja

Romantic thrillers have always earned the admiration and support of the masses. And actor and music director G V Prakash has now signed up to do one next.

Yes, just as G V Prakash's brilliant musical score for the critically-acclaimed superhit 'Asuran' and the eagerly-awaited Suriya-starrer 'Soorarai Pottru' have further cemented his position as one of the Tamil film industry's most bankable music directors, his commendable acting performances in films have also made him a bankable actor as well.

Not one to rest on his laurels, G V Prakash has been keeping busy, completing all his projects one by one. His upcoming projects too seem to hold a lot of promise and are sure to make his career graph soar even higher.

In fact, G V Prakash has signed an exciting new film that has been tentatively titled Navira Cinemas Production No 1.

The film, a romantic crime thriller, is being directed by Akilan, who has worked with several leading directors and who is well known for his short films.

Sources say that G V Prakash was impressed by the manner in which Akilan narrated the plot and immediately agreed to play the lead in the film.

The film got off to a great start with a simple pooja that was held at Valasaravakkam today. The event was held in accordance with government norms, with all participants maintaining social distance and wearing masks.

Full fledged work on this film will begin in the first week of December this year in Chennai. Other places that the unit plans to film include Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Navira Cinemas is producing this big budget film, which is to be made in a time period of 55 days.

The unit is finalising the other cast members of the film. Talks are on with some leading stars and very shortly, the team will make an announcement on the other members of the cast.

G V Prakash, Napoleon play important roles in Hollywood film Trap City!

Two top Tamil film stars are now an integral part of a Hollywood film featuring Brandon T. Jackson of Tropic Thunder, Person Jackson and Big Momma House fame.

Yes, the film, Trap City, which has been shot in Nashville in the US, features young dynamic actor and top music director G V Prakash and actor Napoleon in important roles.

Other Hollywood artistes who feature in the film include Clifton (who has acted in films like Ray, Dead Presidents, Norbit, Menace II Society), Erica Pinket ( who has acted in All Eyez on Me) and Dennis “LA” White ( who has acted in  Notorious, Thank You For Your Service and Parenthood).

The film, which has been produced by Kyyba Films in association with Nasik Rav Media and KOE (Kingdom Over Everything) Studios, is an hip urban drama that has been written and directed by Ricky Burchell.

Actor G V Prakash and Producer Tel K Ganesan of Kyyba Films recently met mediapersons in Chennai for an interaction on the film.

During the interaction, producer Tel Ganesan said, "We got the idea to make this film in the year 2019. I met G V Prakash in connection with a sound track task. It was then that I invited him to come to Hollywood."

Stating that Brandon Jackson plays the lead in the film, producer Tel K Ganesan disclosed that G V Prakash plays a surgeon in Trap City.

"Brandon plays a rapper who also works as a drop man for a drug kingpin in the film. Brandon gets shot and it is G V Prakash, who saves the hero in the film. Interestingly, Brandon's character records a song that becomes a viral sensation just before his arrest. His fame intensifies because of his crime but after an attempt on his life, he faces the greatest choice of his life," the producer said.

Explaining why he picked G V Prakash for the role, producer Tel K Ganesan said, "When I met him itself I realised that he had immense potential and talent. I loved his work. I think people from Hollywood will come here for our music."

Stating that the audience base for English films were 200 per cent more than that of Tamil films, Tel Ganesan pointed out that G V Prakash, through this film, would be reaching out to an audience base that was at least 20 to 40 times bigger than the usual base."The English market comprises around 170 countries. So, the reach will be phenomenal," he said.

The producer said that G V Prakash would now be known internationally and that the locals in America had accepted him as one of their own. Stating that the film would release in English first, Tel Ganesan said that they would release the dubbed version of the film in Tamil.

Interestingly, the film also features Napoleon in an important role.

When asked about Napoleon's role in the film, Tel Ganesan said, "Napoleon plays Brandon's bodyguard in the film."

Talking to the media about the experience of working on the film, actor and music director G V Prakash said that he thoroughly enjoyed working on the project.

When asked to compare the working styles of the Tamil film industry with Hollywood, G V Prakash said, "Both are different industries and therefore, one cannot compare. Both have their strengths. The primary difference I found was that they use Live sound and therefore, no prompting is possible when one delivers lines."

Giving out more details of his experience of working on the film, G V Prakash said, "I shot for around three days in Nashville. We rehearsed for a day before beginning to shoot. Brandon is basically a very nice person and I enjoyed working with this entire unit. In fact, we are in touch even after the film is over."

When asked if whether he got to work with Napoleon and if whether they had combination scenes, G V Prakash said that although they did not have combination scenes, he did catch up with Napoleon.  "Napoleon sir is a very nice person. I met him and I visited his home there in Nashville. It was a very pleasant experience."

The actor however clarified that he had only acted in Trap City and that he hadn't scored its music. On the Kollywood front, G V Prakash said his next film, as a music director, would be director Vasantabalan's Jail.

விஜய் தான் என்னை திரையில் முதன் முதலாக தோன்ற வைத்தவர். தலைவா படத்தில் தளபதியுடன் ஒரு பாடலில் ஆட வைத்தார். நாச்சியார் படத்தில் என் நடிப்பை பார்த்து தான் இந்த படத்தில் நடிக்க கேட்டார். அவர் இயக்கத்தில் நான் நடித்தது மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. வாட்ச்மேன் படம் காமெடியுடன் கூடிய திரில்லர். தண்ணீர் கேன் போடும் பையனான நான் இரவில் ஒரு வீட்டுக்குள் போகிறேன். அந்த பங்களாவில் இருப்பவர்கள், நடக்கும் சம்பவங்களை கொண்டு படம் நகரும். புருனோ என்ற நாய் படம் முழுக்க வரும். அது செய்யும் சாகசங்கள் பிரமிக்க வைக்கும். 

நாயுடன் நடித்த அனுபவம்?

நாய்க்கு பயப்படும் ஒருவன் நாயுடனே இரவு முழுக்க இருக்க வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலைக்கு ஆளாகிறான். அந்த நாய் அவனை காப்பாற்ற தான் முயற்சி செய்கிறது. ஆனால் அவனோ அந்த நாயை பார்த்து மிரள்கிறான். இப்படித்தான் கதை போகும். என்னை காப்பாற்ற நாய் செய்யும் செயல்களை குழந்தைகள் கைதட்டி ரசிப்பார்கள். அந்த நாயுடன் சுமார் 40 நாட்கள் நடித்தேன். நாய் குழந்தைகள் போலத் தான். அவற்றை அதட்டி மிரட்டி வேலை வாங்க முடியாது. அவற்றின் போக்கில் சென்றுதான் படம் பிடிக்க வேண்டும். புருனோவை நண்பனாக்கி கொண்டேன். இருந்தாலும் சில சமயம் முறைக்கும். பயமாக இருக்கும். 

உங்கள் இசையில் பாடல்கள் இல்லாத படமா?

இது ஹாலிவுட் பாணியில் விறுவிறுப்பான திரைக்கதை கொண்ட படம். இதில் பாடல்கள் வைத்தால் ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கையில் நெளிய தொடங்கி விடுவார்கள். எனவே படத்தில் பாடல்கள் வைக்கவில்லை. ஒரு விளம்பர பாடல் எடுத்துள்ளோம். இதில் நான், யோகி பாபு, சாயிஷா மூவரும் நடனம் ஆடியுள்ளோம். 

எந்த மாதிரியான படத்தில் நடிக்க ஆசை?

வரலாற்று பின்னணி கொண்ட படத்தில் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்பது ஆசை.

பொள்ளாச்சியில் கேமராக்கள் பொருத்துவது?

இந்த படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர் அருண்மொழி மாணிக்கம் வெளிநாடுகளில் படித்து தொழிலதிபராக இருந்தவர். வெறும் லாப நோக்கத்தோடு மட்டும் சினிமாவுக்கு வராமல் வித்தியாசமான கதைகளை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து தயாரித்து ரசிகர்களை மகிழ்விக்க வேண்டும் என்று குறிக்கோள் கொண்டவர். படத்தின் விளம்பரத்துக்காக செய்யும் செலவை நல்ல நோக்கத்தோடு மக்களுக்கு பயன்படும் வகையில் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னபோது மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. சமீபத்தில் பெண்கள் பாலியல் துன்புறுத்தலுக்கு ஆளான  பொள்ளாச்சியில் இனி அதுபோன்ற சம்பவங்களோ குற்றங்களோ நடக்காத வகையில் கேமராக்கள் பொருத்துகிறார். இது மட்டும் அல்லாமல் கோடைகாலம் என்பதால் ஆங்காங்கே வெயிலில் தவிக்கும் சிறு வியாபாரிகளுக்கு நிழற்குடைகள் அமைப்பது, வாட்ச்மேன்களுக்கு குடை, தொப்பி வினியோகம் என்று நலத்திட்டங்களோடு சேர்ந்த விளம்பரம் செய்கிறார். அவருக்கு என் பாராட்டுகள்.

ரஜினி, விஜய், சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு பிறகு குழந்தைகளுக்கு பிடித்த நடிகராகி விட்டீர்களே?

ஆமாம். பொது இடங்களுக்கு செல்லும்போது இதை உணர்கிறேன். குழந்தைகள் நம்மை ரசிக்கிறார்கள் என்னும்போது பத்து ஹிட் படங்கள் கொடுத்த மகிழ்ச்சி உருவாகிறது. குழந்தைகள் மட்டும் அல்லாமல் குடும்ப ரசிகர்கள் எனக்கு உருவாகி இருக்கிறார்கள். எங்க வீட்டு பையன் மாதிரியே இருக்கேப்பா... என்று சொல்லும்போது உலகிலேயே மகிழ்ச்சியான நபராக உணர்கிறேன். குழந்தைகள் மனதை கவர்வது எளிதான காரியம் அல்ல. அது குறைந்த காலகட்டத்திலேயே எனக்கு கிடைத்திருப்பது கடவுளின் வரம் தான். 

சமூகவலைதளங்களில் அதிக பாலோயர்கள் உள்ள நீங்கள் நல்ல விஷயங்களை செய்து வருகிறீர்கள். 

இதில் அடுத்த கட்டம் என்ன அரசியலா?

அடுத்த கட்டத்துக்கு எப்படி எடுத்து செல்லும் என்று தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் என்னால் முடிந்ததை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். சொல்லவேண்டியதை இன்னும் அதிகம் பேரை சென்று அடையும் வகையில் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். இதில் எந்தவிதமான எதிர்கால நோக்கமும் இல்லை. மனதுக்கு சரியென்று பட்டதை சொல்கிறேன். சொல்வேன். இந்த இடத்துக்கு செல்லவேண்டும் என்று திட்டமிட்டு எதையும் சொல்வதோ செய்வதோ இல்லை.

If his dance can be glorified as ‘Stress Busters’ by audiences, he has always been entitled as ‘Task Master’ by the topmost actors of our industry. A prompt willingness to deliver highly fashionable choreography in relevance to our native and local flavor had made him most favorite of universal audiences. Choreographer Baba Bhaskar, the man behind the creation of dance for several Chart buster songs turns filmmaker with ‘Kuppathu Raja’.

As the trailer has got an effectual result of being termed as ‘Local’ backdrop, Baba Bhaskar has something to say. “Actually I don’t accept the term ‘Local’ and instead would prefer calling it ‘Nativity’. When people around us are so much spellbound over the nativities of village and neighboring states, ‘Slums’ are indeed the native element of Chennai city,” says choreographed-turned-filmmaker Baba Bhaskar. 

While the theatrical trailer of Kuppathu Raja has created a decorous impact spanning boastful views on YouTube, it is evident that the film has a unique plot. Moreover, relating the title ‘Kuppathu Raja’ with the incidents in trailer, it has given a prospectus view that it’s all about the clash between two characters, who wants to be the ‘King’. So is Parthiban playing the negative role and GV Prakash takes on a combat with him? “Too many questions and answering either one of them would be a spoiler,” jokingly says Baba Bhaskar. Elaborating this context, he clarifies, “There is an in-depth story than what we have seen in trailer. Yes, the film owns a package of entertainment along with this premise. If you’re keenly looking out to know about hero and villain, the audience will have to find it out with the movie as it involves some dramatic moments.”

The film features GV Prakash, Palak Lalwani and Parthiban in lead roles with Yogi Babu and Poonam Bajwa appearing in an important character. This film is titled "Kaadhalai thedi Nithya Nandha" a title which will create a huge buzz not only in the Industry but also among the general public.

Every now and then Tamil cinema industry spring a surprise to the audience in terms of content.  The recent instances of many content oriented films having a say in the box office provides strength to the producers and directors who come up with ideas that win them accolades. "Vandi"starring Vidharth in the lead is one such film. 

This film had travelled the hard terrain of shooting and is now venturing into the much tougher terrain called Release. The journey to release is relatively made easy with popular distributor, producer M.Saravanan of S focuss coming on board as the distributor for Tamil Nadu. It is to be noted that M.Saravanan had distributed many films including Chennai 28 part 2, and Power Pandi in the recent past. He has also produced "Kuppathu Raja" starring GV Prakash and Radhakrishnan Parthiban. Kuppathu Raja is slated to release very shortly.
