Actress Meena reveals how Rajini was first ‘Uncle’ and then ‘Aththaan’ in Kodeeswari’s special episode

As COLORS Tamil’s Kodeeswari enters its final phase, a mega surprise has been lined up for viewers, with popular actress Meena taking the Hot Seat in her quest to empower women nationally.

The popular star, who began her long career as a child artist, promises to dazzle Kodeeswari’s fans with her quick wit and astuteness. She and hostess Radikaa left the audience in splits as they recollected tales from all the movies they had done together. Radikaa began the episode by calling her Meenu Kutti, leading to a ROTFL experience for everybody.

Meena shared how she had played the role of a little girl in a movie with Rajinikanth before she eventually became his female lead in the latter part of her career. She also spoke about her daughter Nainika who is following her mother’s footsteps as a child artist.

Meena played the game with aplomb, backed by the super confident Radikaa, in front of an all-woman audience. Unsure about one question, the actor used her first lifeline ‘Ask the Expert’ to answer ‘Which university did K Balasubramaniyam study in?’ although she was from the same university. She made it all the way to Rs. 3, 20,000, after exhausting her two other lifelines 50:50 and ‘Audience Poll’.

Preethi, Brand Manager of Nippon Paint along with Rajakumari and Meenakshi from ‘nsakti’ initiative by Nippon Paint for the empowerment of rural women, graced the episode with their presence. Rajakumari and Meenakshi represented the women painters of their community and explained how proud they are to be part of Kodeeswari.

Meena gave a glimpse of her comeback into Kollywood, pairing with Thalaivar168 while also revealing an unknown secret of how she was not able to enjoy a normal childhood. Her small dream was to enjoy a day at the beach without being hounded by her fans. Radikaa lauded how Meena has made a mark in the industry just like she has done.

KousalyaKharthika who resides in Madurai suffers from speech and hearing impairment and communicates through vibrations and lip-reading. Kousalya’s determination and grit has helped her pursue her dreams and overcome  obstacles in her life

Commenting on becoming the first winner of Kodeeswari, KousalyaKharthika said, “I have always depended on my family members for my day-to-day life. But, right from my childhood I have been determined to learn and excel in whatever I do. I truly thank COLORS Tamilfor giving me the opportunity to participate in the show and fulfill my dreams. The mother of a 1 year old toddler, Kousalya has triumphed over her disabilities throughout her life, becoming a university topper and going on tosecure a B.Sc in Technology, M.Sc in Information Technology and an MBA degree. Today she works as a Junior Assistant at the

Principal District Court of Madurai.

Speaking about how the money will be used, sheadds, “I first want to do my bit for people in need, especially the Deaf and Dumb school in Nagarkoil where I studied.  Additionally, I want to visit either Italy or Switzerland which has always been my dream.”

Kodeeswari’s latest ‘tsunami’ episode touches hearts

COLORS Tamil’s iconic game show Kodeeswari marked the 15th anniversary of the Tsunami that struck Tamil Nadu on Thursday, recalling the experiences of victims of the devastating natural calamity and touching every heart.

Hostess Radikaa Sarathkumar commenced the fourth episode with the heart-warming story of Rekha Karthikeyan, who became the first woman to get a license for fishing, daring the tsunami in her own brave manner. Radikaa underlined that Rekha was an inspiration to all, urging every woman to take on challenges in their unique ways even in the face of the greatest adversity.

The gripping contest began with a graceful dance performance by a 19-year-old girl. Angeline Sheril runs a dance school Naatiya Siragugal and she dreams of teaching Karagam, Silambam and other ancient dance forms to people in her village for free. Radikaa, just like the other participants and viewers, was awe-struck by Angeline’s determination and couldn’t stop gushing about her. She was bowled over completely when Angeline revealed that she held 13 world records.

Angeline played Kodeeswari’s special Tsunami episode cautiously, opting for the audience poll and entering the show’s first safe zone. The ambitious girl from Cuddalore returned home with a prize of Rs. 40,000.

The show gained momentum in its first week itself, with the viewers now being given the opportunity to win daily prizes and even a chance to be on the Hot Seat by being a part of the interactive ‘Play Along’ section on VOOT with the Voot Jackpot question

As everybody remembered the Tsunami victims, Meena from Cuddalore shared her story on how the tidal waves had turned her life upside down. She made it to the coveted hot seat winning the “Miss Minnal” (Fastest Finger First) round in just 2.71 seconds. Meena quickly made it to the safe zone and will continue to play in Friday’s episode.

COLORS Tamil’s biggest and most enthralling game show, Kodeeswari, hit the small screens ‪on Monday night. The first episode was a nail-biting one packed with emotions, suspense and joy. 

Evergreen actress Radikaa Sarathkumar kick-started the iconic show by introducing 10 inspiring women contestants from across Tamil Nadu, who had made it to the first episode after rigorous screening process. Among other interesting profiles, there was an aspiring IFS officer, a PT teacher and a News Reader.

The “Miss Minal” (fastest finger first) round asked the contestants to rearrange famous Tamil phrases which included an MGR old song and a Tamil patriotic song. Tirupur’s Valli Kannu, a 33 year old, MBA gold medallist currently working as Administration Coordinator in a CBSE school, was the first contestant to make it to the Hot Seat.

Valli’s dream is to foster personality development among children and mould them into job-equipped individuals.

Valli Kannu played fairly well and went on to clear the first two segments of the game show, winning Rs 3,20,000. When she was asked about MP Narendra Modi’s “Howdy Modi” event, she entered the safe zone and went for the ‘Ask an Expert’ option. After giving the right answer (Texas), Valli Kannu expressed her dream of taking her kids to USA on a vacation.

Valli Kannu is a big fan of Actor Vijay and spoke with Radikaa about the Movie “Theri” in which the star had played a key role. 

Valli Kannu left a highly paid corporate job to pursue her dreams of enlightening children. She used the “Flip the Question” option to win a whopping Rs 12,50,000. With this winning amount, Valli can make her small dream of taking her children to USA for a vacation come true. She will further use this amount to pursue her passion in the field of childrens’ education.

The popular television game format will see host Radikaa Sarathkumar quiz contestants on the Hot Seat 15 questions with prize money ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1 crore. If a contestant successfully answers all 15 questions correctly, she will be awarded a prize money of ₹1 crore. During the play the contestants get to take 4 help-lines namely, 50-50, Audience Poll, Ask the Expert and Flip to survive through the game.
