Major Private Dairies request the Government to allow Retail shops to open

Major Private Dairies request the Government to allow Retail shops to open for two hours for Milk sales to protect farmers & consumers during total lockdown*

Major Private Dairies such as Thirumala, Jersey, Heritage, Dodla & other dairy companies, humbly request the Government of Tamil Nadu to grant permission to allow retail shops to remain open for the distribution & sale of milk ensuring social distancing for two hours during early morning during the complete lockdown initiative.

In a situation where shops remain closed, milk is not available for a major part of the population in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Erode, etc., as companies do have the permission to distribute, but as shops will be closed, milk will not be available. If dairy companies are not able to sell they will not be able to collect milk which will have an impact on regular milk farmers who are dependent on milk sourcing as a support for their daily livelihood & income. To keep in mind that milk on a daily basis is undoubtedly essential for children, for ensuring their growth having all the necessary nutrients. Milk itself is an excellent source of Calcium, Vitamin D, Protein & other nutrients which help to build immunity, especially during this time of lockdown where it is most imperative and the need of the hour for all families.

All private dairies assure its customers of strictly followed safety measures & guidelines right from farms to their homes.
