GANDHI - Mantras of Compassion', a Global Musical Tribute to MAHATMA GANDHI*

*'GANDHI - Mantras of Compassion', a Global Musical Tribute to MAHATMA GANDHI*

*‘GANDHI – Mantras of Compassion’ - A Transformational New Album by Ricky Kej, Tina Guo, Masa Takumi, and Kailash Satyarthi.*

3-time Grammy®-Award Winner Ricky Kej collaborates with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kailash

Satyarthi for a global musical collaboration that pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring ideals.

Today, July 14th, marks the release of the album. This New Age music album is a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, India’s Father of the Nation, and his enduring message of non-violence, peace, and compassion.

Joining Ricky Kej on this remarkable album are world-renowned musicians Tina Guo, a Chinese- American cellist, and Masa Takumi, a Grammy Award-winning Japanese composer and shamisen player. Together, they have created a deeply immersive musical experience that blends ancient Indian mantras with contemporary global sounds, weaving a soundscape that resonates with Gandhi’s timeless values.

“Mahatma Gandhi inspired generations of changemakers, from Martin Luther King Jr. to Nelson Mandela. This album is our humble offering to keep that flame alive. Music has the power to transcend boundaries, just as Gandhi’s message did,” said Ricky Kej.

Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, whose life's work has focused on children’s rights and peace, lends his voice and vision to the project. His collaboration underscores the album's deeper mission: to awaken global consciousness through art.

“Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on January 30th, 1948. But the assassin did not know that some people never die. Gandhi is indeed one of them. His life lessons are universal and timeless. Gandhi will continue to guide us beyond geography, and through the ages," said Kailash Satyarthi.

Over 200 musicians from more than 40 countries came together for this epic musical album, resulting in a tapestry of cultural harmony and musical unity.

The album was produced by Lonnie Park, Jordan Buetow, and Kailash Satyarthi, and Vanil Veigas, with Sumathy Ram serving as co-producer.

The inspiration behind the album’s concept has personal roots for Sumathy Ram, an Indian American originally from Tamil Nadu. Sumathy was very creatively fulfilling to work with the team on this album, right from its conception to completion. Sumathy affirmed that the music of the 'GANDHI - Mantras of Compassion' album is a tribute to Gandhi's ideals and motivates us to carry them forward, ideals such as Satyagraha, Sarvodaya, Swadharma, Swadesh, and Swaraj.

“This album highlights Ricky Kej’s signature musical style while reimagining Gandhi’s legacy for today’s world. The epic album is more than just a tribute, it is also a call for reflection, feeling, and living with greater compassion for values such as Ekam, Satya, Ahimsa, and Karuna,” said Sumathy Ram.

The album's title, GANDHI - Mantras of Compassion, reflects the deep spiritual tone of the work. Each track carries the essence of Gandhi’s teachings, messages of love, tolerance, inner strength, and peaceful resistance. At a time when the world is facing profound challenges, this music serves as a reminder of the relevance and power of Gandhi’s message today.

The anticipation is escalating as the release date is today on July 14 for what promises to be a musical journey with a global resonance, one that doesn’t just celebrate Gandhi’s life, but seeks to bring his message alive in sound, soul, and spirit.
