         Tata Starbucks set to record highest store growth in India in FY 2020-21

New store in Kanpur marks Tata Starbucks 218th store in India

                                                                                         

Tata Starbucks marks its presence in the 18th city in India by entering Kanpur, the second city in Uttar Pradesh to serve the Starbucks premium experience. The brand is set to mark its highest expansion in India in FY 2020-21 by entering 7 new cities with a total of 40 new stores making it the highest no. of stores opened in a year through its bullish and thoughtful expansion strategy. India continues to remain one of the fastest-growing markets for Starbucks globally.

Entering the city of Kanpur:

The new store at Z Square Mall greets customers with soft and warm timber interiors combined with accents of green and touches of brass, inspired by coffee leaves and beans grown in farms around the world. The wooden feature and textured walls, along with the different pockets of seating available in the store, help to create a sequence of moments of connection throughout the space. 

 

The main artwork piece features coffee plants and the process of carefully nurtured coffee beans throughout each step of its journey. The use of leather to produce this piece celebrates the local craftmanship in the city, well known for its leather and tannery industry. A hand painted botanical artwork behind the banquette adds an extra layer of storytelling to the store.

 

The store offers customers a wide range of Starbucks beverages and all-time favourites such as Cafe Mocha, Java Chip Frappuccino®, Signature Hot Chocolate and Caramel Macchiato. Customers in Kanpur can also enjoy the new Spring offerings like Mango Popper Frappuccino®, Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato, Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino® etc. along with our new plant-based offering – Oats Cocoa Macchiato, Oats Cocoa Frappuccino® & Iced Oats Cocoa Macchiato.

 

Starbucks is also bringing to Kanpur its Holi special Frappuccino® of colours, a perfect blend of complex flavours and colours which the customers can try for the upcoming festive season. Customers can also enjoy chef Sanjeev Kapoor curated menu which comprises of Indian and International offerings.

 

Starbucks will introduce the My Starbucks Rewards™ loyalty program to the city, which provides members with rewards and personalized benefits as they make Starbucks a part of their daily lives. The new store will also offer brand merchandise and free Wi-Fi to enjoy an elevated coffeehouse experience that Starbucks is known for.

 

With partner (employee) and customer safety as a top priority, Tata Starbucks continues to observe elevated cleaning and sanitizing protocols and take precautions, including floor markers to encourage social distancing in waiting areas, temperature checks for all partners customers and delivery executives and partners are required to wear facial coverings and gloves during their shifts. Tata Starbucks also introduced contactless order and payment methods, such as Mobile Order and Pay through the Starbucks India mobile application, so customers can enjoy a safe, familiar and convenient Starbucks Experience.

 

 

Starbucks Expansion in India:

Tata Starbucks unlocked its innovation last year by opening two new formats of stores in the country. The opening of the first drive-thru store showcases Tata Starbucks commitment to evolving the brand and business in India to provide new and meaningful experiences to its customers. The new all-women stores’ format is another significant step towards creating meaningful opportunities for women within the company and is an important part of Tata Starbucks efforts to achieving 40 percent gender diversity by the end of 2022.

 

The brand also celebrated its eight-year anniversary in India in October 2020 and crossed the 200th store mark, currently operating across 18 Indian cities. FY 2020-21 marked Starbucks opening in new states and cities across India including Lucknow, Amritsar, Kochi, Ludhiana, Bhopal, Indore and now Kanpur.
