 *Malayalam actor Kamal Roy passes away at 54 due to cardiac arrest*




Kamal Roy was the brother of celebrated actors Kalaranjini, Kalpana (Late), Urvashi, Nandu (Late) and belonged to a distinguished family deeply rooted in the Malayalam film industry.


He has acted in 30 films in Malayalam and debuted as a Hero in the Tamil film Puthusa Padikiren Paatu. He made his presence felt through memorable performances in films such as Sayujyam, Kollilakkam, Manju, Kingini, Kalyanasougandhikam, Vachalam, Shobhanam, The King Maker, and Leader. Among these, his villainous portrayal in Kalyanasougandhikam earned him particular acclaim, with audiences and critics appreciating the intensity and conviction he brought to the role.


In addition to acting, Kamal Roy also appeared in the popular song “Innum Ente Kannuneeril” from the film Yuvajanolsavam, which remains fondly remembered by Malayalam cinema lovers.


Born to Chavara V. P. Nair and Vijayalakshmi, Kamal Roy was also the brother of late actor Nandu. While he may not have always been in the limelight, his contributions added depth and strength to many films, making him a respected presence in the industry.


The film fraternity, colleagues, and fans express their heartfelt condolences to his family during this time of grief. Kamal Roy will be remembered for his dedication to cinema and the impactful roles he portrayed on screen. He is survived by his son Nitin Prince.
