What if Kajol wasn’t the iconic DDLJ Simran? Or what if Aditya Chopra would have chosen someone else to play it? Wouldn’t that be different and hard to imagine! In the same way, every director has a vision who they think would be the star of their creation and would create magic for the audience. Likewise, Samar Shaikh, the director of MX Player’s web series – Only For Single was firm on casting the stunning – Pooja Banerjee as the lead.
Pooja expresses her emotions by saying, “I remember I didn't have dates available but Samar sir insisted I figure a way out to be a part of the show. He convinced me and everyone else that I am the best person for the role and that I should play this character! Very few people like Samar sir exist. He's patient but fun at the same time and has a clear vision of what he wants. And to know I was his first and only choice is a great thing.”
Well, it is super fortunate for Samar, Pooja and now for the fans to witness the magnificent series soon. It is a coming-of-age web series that highlights the reality of the lives of singles. Following the journey of the struggles of six friends, the show invariably questions them at every step in their lives. ‘Only For Singles’ will entertain you and take you on a never-seen-before but most definitely a relatable journey.
