Republic of Korea expresses interest in expanding footprint in Odisha

 Korean HE Shin Bong-Kil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India expressed his interest in expanding Korean industries footprints in Odisha.

The Korean delegation which is visiting Odisha as part of the Korean Caravan, an event organized by the Korean embassy to improve understanding between Korea and the Indian States for furthering business and cultural cooperation, met Honourable chief minister Naveen Patnaik apart from other government senior officials which included Development Commissioner Shri. Suresh Mohapatra, Industries secretary Hemant Sharma, IDCO chief managing director Shri Sanjay Singh, MoS Dibya Shankar Mishra, Subroto Bagchi, IPICOL managing director Nitin Jawale among others.

The delegation which consisted of Indian head honchos of Korean brands like Hyundai, Kia Motors, Samsung, LG among others were enlightened on the ease of doing business in Odisha and about various incentives and infrastructure facilities provided by the government by presentation with Korean text by Dr. Nitin Jawale, MD,I PICOL, which was appreciated by the business delegation.

Honorable Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said: “It gives me great pleasure to host the Korean delegation. We have envisioned our industrial growth in six focus sectors and we are striving to facilitate the growth by providing a conducive environment for industries. Korea and Odisha have many opportunities to collaborate in these focused sectors and further strengthen trade, investment, and cultural relations.”

H. E Shin Bong Kil said:  "This is my first visit to Odisha and I would like to thank Odisha government for such a warm welcome and arranging this meeting. This Korean Caravan is a business delegation to explore the opportunity of business investment in the state. The second objective is to strengthen cultural ties. We want to make a fresh start. The presentation was very impressive and gave us an idea of the vast potential of this state. The Odisha government is very passionate and that speaks volume"

The delegation also paid a visit to the Industrial estate of the state – Info Valley II, Khurda Industrial Estate. They were further shown the land which has been envisaged to be developed as the Korean Industry cluster.

Visit of Invest Odisha delegation to Guangzhou, China

  The Invest Odisha delegation led by Capt. Dibya Sankar Mishra, Honble Minister Industries, MSME, Energy & Home and comprising of officials of Industries dept and Industry representatives in Odishanis in Guangzhou, China for an Investment promotion here.
As a part of the road show, the delegation visited Nine Dragon Paper (Holdings) Limited at Donguang near Gaunzhou, which has shown interest in investing in Odisha.
In the afternoon a road show was organised which was attended by the Chinese Industries representatives and was facilitated by the Indian Consulate in Guangzhou under the leadership of Sri. Sujit Ghosh.

Hon'ble Minister urged that India and China have ancient links and that under the leadership of Sri. Naveen Patnaik , Honble Chief Minister of Odisha, the state has come up a long way and is now one of the most industry ready state in India, with some of the best parameters in infrastructure and skill availability. He invited the Chinese industries to visit the state and establish investment links for which the state of Odisha is committed to give the best of facilitation and services.

Sri. Nitin Jawale, IAS MD IPICOL and Special Secretary Industries gave a presentation on Investment climate and opportunities in Odisha. He also answered the queries raised by Chinese companies in the interaction session.

The event was followed by one to one meeting with members of China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (CASME) about bringing industries and supply chains in different sectors in Odisha and some others including, Phenix Battery Company a manufacturer of mobile phone batteries.
