5 reasons why Shruti Haasan is the perfect Elsa

Shruti will be lending her voice for the valiant Elsa in the Tamil dubbed version of the highly awaited animated film and here’s why we think she’s the perfect person to play Elsa.

After all, she’s the daughter of one of the most talented and versatile actors, Kamal Haasan, a legend in his own right in the Indian film industry. When we talk about acing the role of Elsa, we can fully expect her to portray this character with extreme panache.

One of the most outspoken actors in the South-Indian industry, Shruti Haasan comes with a fine reputation of being direct, blunt and no-nonsense. Focussed and being a go-getter in life is what makes Shruti fit the role of Elsa like a glove. With Elsa and Shruti seeing the same character traits, we fully expect the actress to rise to the challenge and give us a performance to remember.

Actress and singer Shruti Haasan has added another feather to her cap as she becomes the first major superstar from the South to be signed on by USA Network for their upcoming television series ‘Treadstone’. 

The show revolves around the origin and present day functioning of a CIA Black ops program called ‘Treadstone’ which trains its recruits as nearly superhuman assassins. Shruti plays Nira Patel, a young girl whose job as a waitress in Delhi serves as a cover for her double life as a trained assassin. The series, penned by ‘Heroes’ creator Tim Kring also stars Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Great Expectations), Brian J. Smith (Sense 8), Omar Metwally (The Affair) and Tracy Ifeachor (Quantico). 

Shruti is one of the few artists who has not only had a hugely successful stint in her acting career across industries, but has also expanded her horizons by following her passion and making a mark for herself in the music space globally. She has performed at some of the most prestigious music venues in the UK and is currently working on her debut album as well. On the film front, Shruti will be seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in an Tamil film titled ‘Laabam’.

சினிமாவில் பெண்களுக்கு பாதுகாப்பு இருப்பதாகவே  கருதுகிறேன் என்று நடிகை ஸ்ருதிஹாசன் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்

இது தொடர்பாக அவர் மேலும் பேசுகையில்,‘ சினிமாவில் நான் அறிமுகமாகி இது பத்தாவது ஆண்டு. இதுவரை நான் நடித்த படங்கள் அனைத்தும் நான் விருப்பப்பட்டு தேர்வு செய்து நடித்தது தான். இதற்காக நான் இப்போதும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். இந்த பத்தாண்டு கால திரையுலக வாழ்க்கை நன்றாகவேயிருந்தது. இதைப் போலவே எதிர்காலத்திலும் எனக்கு பிடித்த கேரக்டர்களிலும், கதைகளிலும் மட்டுமே நடிப்பேன்.

 

மத நம்பிக்கை குறித்து எனக்கும் அப்பாவிற்கும் வேறுபட்ட கருத்து இருக்கிறது. என்னைப் பொருத்தவரை நான் ஸ்ப்ரிச்சுவல் சக்தி என்ற ஒன்று இருப்பதாகவே நம்புகிறேன். ஆனால் அது கோவில், தேவாலாயம், மசூதிகளில் இருக்கிறதா? என்று கேட்டால் அதற்கு என்னிடம் நேரடியான பதிலில்லை. ஆனால் அனைத்தையும் நம்புகிறேன்.

அதே போல் சினிமாவில் மட்டுமல்ல இந்தியாவிலும் பெண்கள் பாதுகாப்பாகவே இருக்கிறார்கள். எனக்கு திரைத்துறையில் கிடைக்கவேண்டிய மரியாதையும், மதிப்பும் கிடைக்கிறது. நான் திரைதுறையில் சந்தித்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் நல்லவர்கள் தான்.

 

தற்போது மகேஷ் மஞ்சரேக்கரின் ஹிந்தி படத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறேன். அப்பாவுடன் இணைந்து நடித்து வரும் ‘சபாஷ் நாயுடு’வின் பணிகள் விரைவில் தொடங்கும்.

நியுயார்க்கில் நடைபெற்ற இந்திய சுதந்திர தினத்தையொட்டி நடைபெற்ற விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டதையும், அதில் தேசப்பற்று பாடலை பாடியதையும் எண்ணி பெருமையடைகிறேன்.’ என்றார் நடிகை ஸ்ருதிஹாசன்.

இதனிடையே பாலிவுட்டின் முன்னணி நடிகைகளான ப்ரியங்கா சோப்ரா, தீபிகா பதுகோனே என இரண்டு நடிகைகளை அடுத்து ‘போர்ப்ஸ் ’எனப்படும் அமெரிக்காவிலிருந்து வெளியாகும் இதழுக்கு பேட்டியளித்த மூன்றாவது இந்திய நடிகை என்ற பெருமையை நடிகை ஸ்ருதிஹாசன் பெற்றிருக்கிறார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
