Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam unveils ‘Sinam’ first look on the occasion of Arun Vijay’s birthday

The entire team of ‘Sinam’ is drenched in showers of high-spirits as the versatile filmmaker Maniratnam has unveiled the first look of ‘Sinam’.

Actor Arun Vijay says, “This is something more than I asked for and a bigger birthday bonanza beyond my imaginations. To have the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam sir launch the first look of my film is a huge blessing and I strongly believe is an additional positive vibe to the movie. Working in his directorial for ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ was an incredible experience, where it gave me the space to unlearn and acquire new traits of performances. While 2018 gave me such an amazing birthday, the magic repeats with his Midas-touch for ‘Sinam’, which is surely a big curtain raiser of attraction for our entire crew.”

Sharing his insight about the film, Arun Vijay adds, “As I have already mentioned, it’s about the premise of how ‘Anger’ in a cop pushes him ahead breaking the barriers and fight for justice. It might be a prototyped statement, but the way GNR Kumaravelan had narrated and shooting it is filling me with excitements.”

The actor’s birthday was celebrated in a much grander and emotional way on the sets of “Sinam”. The occasion had the presence of his father Vijayakumar, mother, wife, kids and sister Preetha along with ‘Agni Siragugal’ director Naveen as well. The film’s producer T. Siva of Amma Creations gifted him a gold chain. Director Arivazhagan and producer Vijay of All In Pictures were also present to wish Arun Vijay.

Sinam has Arun Vijay wearing cop uniform yet again after his critically acclaimed successful movie ‘Kuttram 23’. The film is produced by Movie Slides Pvt Ltd and is directed by National award winning filmmaker GNR Kumaravelan. Palak Lalwani is playing the female lead and Kaali Venkat would be seen a pivotal role. The technical crew includes Shabir (Music) and Gopinath (Cinematography), Michael (Art), Raja Mohammed (Editor), Madhan Karki, Priyan Eaknath (Lyrics), Pawan (Design) and Silva (Stunts).

Arun Vijay-Karthick Naren-Lyca Productions “MAFIA” shooting wrapped up

Ever since the announcement of “Mafia” was made, the expectations have remained at its best graph. Naturally, a project comprising of the combination of a director with clarity in execution, an actor of commitment and passion, a producer with strength of resources and vision is a more-than-enough factor to keep the crowds engaged. Now, the entire team of has a very big reason to celebrate now for the shooting has wrapped up today (August 26). Directed by Karthick Naren of ‘Dhuruvangal 16’ fame, the film went on floors last month, where the major schedule was filmed in Chennai followed by final one in Thailand. Now, the whole unit is completely exhilarated over the completion of shoot.

Director Karthick Naren high-spiritedly says, “I owe a lot to the entire team for being a complete support in making this happen. I thank my hero Arun Vijay sir, Prasanna sir, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others, who encouraged and supported me thoroughly. The technical team was yet another pillar of support, especially cinematographer Gokul Benoy. If not for the commendable preparations they made during the pre-production phase, this would have not been possible. I can’t stop thanking my producer Subaskaran sir of Lyca Productions for banking his trust on a filmmaker like me. This was an opportunity that renewed by hopes and energy to move forward and give my best. We will have the post-production works wrapped up soon and producers will bring in lots of announcements shortly.”

Producer Subaskaran of Lyca Productions says, “We at Lyca Productions have been working with the big names in the industry. What I really liked about Karthick Naren was not his expertise in storytelling, but his clarity and perfect planning. Now to see that he has completed the shooting as promised on time excites the entire production house of Lyca Productions. Arun Vijay sir has rendered a major share of support in getting ‘Mafia’ wrapped on time. Despite his commitments with other projects, which demands his mental and physical preparations, he managed to give call sheet for this film and we are really happy about it. Saaho Movie Press Meet

The mammoth ‘Saaho’ is all set to storm in theatres from August 30 worldwide and the team was present in Chennai to promote the film. The dais looked amazingly sparkled with the hottest hunks Prabhas and Arun Vijay along with the angelic Shraddha Kapoor, brainiac filmmaker Sujeeth, Music director Ghibran, Studio Green Films K.E. Gnanavel Raja, Production Designer Sabu Cyril and Pramod, one of the producers of UV Creations behind Saaho.

Here are some of the excerpts from the grand event.

K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films, “This event is something nostalgically positive to me as the press meet of Baahubali happened in the same place. There is a particular dialogue in the film, where Prabhas speaks about hitting ‘Sixer’ and I am sure Prabhas will make an impressive show. I am aware of the production of Vamsi and Pramod Anna. Although, I was aware of the money they have invested, I was spellbound over the grandeur when watching the trailer. I am sure, the audience will definitely have a big blast of celebrations. Trailers have become the major pillar of a film and have a good impact on the release and reception. After Saaho, it is so much evidence that people have got to know what the film is all about. When compared to other versions, Baahubali – The Beginning had a very good opening in Tamil Nadu and same will be with Saaho. A player can hit six, but among this team of 11, 7 of them belong to our region including Arun Vijay, Ghibran and even Sujeeth, who is a graduate from Prasad Film Institute.”

Music director Ghibran said, “Right from our childhood, we were always impressed with the Hollywood movies like Fast and Furious, Mission Impossible, etc, where we desired it happens in India as well. I am now extremely happy that our dreams are coming true through Saaho. Working with the majestic orchestra at Budapest, it was much more enthralling and challenging. The instrumentalists were very much excited as well as working with us and they wanted to watch the movie as well. The challenging part of BGM in Saaho was the last 2 reels and it was really amazing. I am sure, the audience will have a big-time watching this movie in the theatres.”

Production Designer Sabu Cyril, “It was pretty much challenging and with the producers spending so much money, I had excessive responsibility of bringing the best in me. The set works are made in such a way that it will look like real locations. Since there are lots of actions involved in the film and we had erect around 60-70 sets. I remember designing a stretch of Abu Dhabi road, which will be one of the greatest highlights. This is a movie you must watch in theatres just like how you enjoyed Avengers. It will definitely be a worthy watch. I have been a hardcore James Bond fan from childhood and I assure Saaho will be an Indian James Bond Film.”

Arun Vijay said, “Soon after the release of Yennai Arindhaal, I was getting more opportunity in Telugu industry and I was patiently waiting for the right opportunity. Sujeeth might look young, but his works are really magical. The way how he handles all the artistes and such a big league of technicians for the span of 2 years is marvelous. I also thank the producers for banking their hopes on him. Prabhas could have easily leaped into a bigger project with A-league directors, but then he chose this film and was completely professional looking carefully into minute roles. This is the first time, I am a part of the trilingual film and it was really enjoyable and challenging as well. I was told by the makers that my role is Manoj and I acted with the same mindset but was surprised to see a new name as Vishwank. So I really don’t know how my character is getting delineated here. Everyone on the sets was amazing including Shraddha Kapoor”

Director Sujeeth said, “Chennai is my home and I spent my childhood here and I converse my dad regularly in Tamil. Working with producers Vamsi and Pramod is like a reunion with my brothers as they produced by the first film. Writing script is the biggest challenge and once done, it’s half job over. Then getting the right technicians onboard will surely let our work get easier. Sabu Cyril would be visiting the sets of Baahubali regularly and during the night, we would discuss the script of Saaho. Later, the big names like Madhie sir, Sreekar Prasad sir, and others did a greater job, which is now witnessed over the film’s result. It’s a good expectation mounting up for Prabhas after Baahubali and is really sure audience will enjoy his show.”

Actress Shraddha Kapoor said, “Everything that happened in Saaho was something magical. If you’re asking me why I chose Saaho, you need to put forward this question on the producers and team. I am really lucky to be a part of India’s biggest action thriller, especially with an actor like Prabhas and a multi-lingual project. A woman doing action is something really challenging and am looking forward to a good reception here.”

Actor Prabhas said, “The experience is very much amazing and journey of 2 years was more enthralling. I cannot compare both Baahubali and Saaho as they belong to different worlds. Except for the similarity on ‘Action’, they have a different premise and treatment is completely unique. I am sure one-day Sujeeth will definitely become huge and phenomenal than SS Rajamouli sir. Shraddha Kapoor is more like a Tomb Raider in the movie. Saaho is going to be first of its kind experience for action film lovers in India. There is a special surprise for Tamil Nadu audiences on August 23 and it will be a delight for them indeed.”

Arun Vijay’s surprise meet with 20 Tamil Nadu boxers who picked medals at National levels

Everyone is so aware about actor Arun Vijay’s insatiable passion for sports have been amazing. Of course, it’s not just hearsay, but a strong affirmation that he keeps consistently registering with his Mr. Fitness look and intense workouts. Being endowed with such herculean looks and fitness, he doesn’t restrict the joy of sportsmanship to flow within, but extends his token of appreciation towards 20 boxers from Tamil Nadu, who won medals (Men - 8 Gold, Women - 3 Gold and 9 others with silver) and Runner championship Tamilnadu coach Senthil Nathan at National Boxing Championship hosted by Mission Olympics Games Association of India. Arun Vijay took his time personally meeting them to congratulate on their victory.

“This isn’t an exultation of victory limited to these 20 superheroes, but for our entire Tamil Nadu. For me, they are the real Avengers,” smilingly says Arun Vijay, who puts forward a strong justification saying, “Being a sportsman or athlete isn’t an easy deal, especially a boxer. It involves lots and lots of mental and physical preparations. You’ve to be on Zen mode and must be capable of abruptly executing your action, the very next second with a calculative mind. Personally, I have gone through certain training for my upcoming film ‘Boxer’, where I spent hours and hours for this role. But to see these champions sweat their soul day and night relentlessly, even at times of leanest support is really astonishing. I wanted to meet them personally to motive and encourage them, but to be honest; I got deeply inspired and motivated as they shared their experience and journey. The challenges they encounter and how they combat them inspired me vividly, which I want to keep inhaling all throughout my life. Moreover, with their acquaintance filling my spirits with more inspirations and positivity, I want to maintain a perpetual friendship with them.”

Actor Arun Vijay has assured that he will keep extending his support towards them in their entire futuristic professional venture.

On the professional front, Arun Vijay has now lined up “Agni Siragugal”, “Boxer” and “Mafia” that are scheduled at different stages of production. With each film having boasting of unique story premises and role, the expectations have reached the best levels and lots more announcements about these projects and new ones are there to arrive soon.

Actor Arun Vijay at the Special Olympics Flame of Hope Torch Rally

Chennai, India. –The Special Olympics Torch, the “Flame of Hope” travelled from Singapore to Delhi to Chennai, to be relayed and lit as a symbol of hope and inclusion of intellectually differently-abled people around the world.

The Flame of Hope was relayed by Mr. Paul Devasagayam, Area Director of Special Olympics Bharat along with Special Olympic Bharat Athletes, and Mr. Cilvin Jayakumar, of Evoke Media, the Hosting Partner of the Special Olympics International Football Championship 2019, at Women’s Christian College (WCC), early on the morning of August 1st.

The Flame of Hope was then handed over to Actor Arun Vijay and Assistant Professor of the Women’s Christian College, Shruti Lal, who then proceeded to light it. The event had in presence SOIFC 2019 Youth Icon and international surfer, Vilassini Sundar, Managing Director of F45 Training, Deepti Akki, various delegates of Special Olympics Bharat & Special Olympics Tamil Nadu, special needs children and teachers of BalaVihar, and special needs students of WCC. The event was later graced by Special Olympics Goodwill Ambassdor Actor Varalakshmi Sarathkumar.

This lighting of the Flame of Hope served as an intimation of the Special Olympics International Football Championship 2019, which will happen in the city between August 3rd to 6th, at Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Arun Vijay’s herculean avatar for ‘Boxer’

He’s been a man of relentless workouts and fitness freak and his insatiable passion to push the bars remains inevitable. Moreover, as soon as the official word was out on “Boxer” and his role, his fans were animated with huge expectations pondering if they would get a glimpse of his preparation for the project. Especially with a mentor like Peter Hein and their embarkation together into the school of LEIN PHONG, one of the world’s most celebrated martial arts training hub located in Vietnam, the pulses among fans found themselves on high rhythmic tempos.

Filmmaker Vivek says, “It’s been a month long hectic training for Arun Vijay sir. Everyone knows that he is a perfectionist in maintaining an awe-inspiring fitness in real life. He has taken additional efforts for our film “Boxer”. In accordance to the suggestion of Peter Hein Master, he underwent training at Lein Phong in Vietnam. It wasn’t an easy deal as Arun Vijay sir had to train himself continuously for 8 hours a day and despite this fact, he remained cool and aplomb. I am really thankful to both of them for pampering this film as their own child. More than doing their job on professional front, they are emotionally bounded to this film, which I believe will definitely escalate the film to a greater magnitude. I thank local trainer Sundeep for his wonderful support throughout this process. This video is just a glimpse of what we have done so far and there are lots more compilations, which involves the rigorous and painstaking efforts of Arun Vijay sir. More than all, we wanted to present this video as his fans have been curiously looking up for. When I say fans, they aren’t merely the ones who watch his films, but invariably follow him for his fitness style”

Following a month long training session, Arun Vijay returned back to Chennai before couple of days and is currently holidaying with his family. As planned, the shooting will commence by this June and will proceed accordingly with its schedules.

The film revolves around a reigning boxer and his turbulent journey of combating the evil within. Ritika Singh would be seen playing the role of a sports journalist in this film and there is a myriad star-cast in prominent roles. D Imman is composing music for this film and the others in the technical team includes C.S. Balachandar (Art), Nadan (Editor), Peter Hein (Stunts), Hina (Stylist), Arun (Costumes). With Vivek scripting and directing, V Mathiyalagan produces the film for Etcetera Entertainment

Arun Vijay returns as cop for a Crime-Thriller

Perseverance, Patience and hard work haven’t alone landed up Arun Vijay’s stardom to a greater graph, but his creative ability to choose scripts that look tailor-made for him and win the attention of universal audiences as well. He has now apparently become the brand ambassador of ‘Thriller’ genres in South Indian industry, where his movies create a curiosity and warm reception in both original and dubbed version. It was literally evident with the Medical Crime-Thriller ‘Kuttram 23’ that fared well in Tamil, dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi versions (Khatarnak Policewala) too. He is now playing a cop role again in the untitled crime-thriller, directed by Gopinath Narayanamoorthy, a former associate of directors Kannan and Milan. Does his herculean physique and unceasing workouts even at night propel the filmmakers to approach him for the cop roles? Arun Vijay brimmed with smile says, “I don’t think so. Moreover, a thriller movie like ‘Kuttram 23’ didn’t depict me as a muscly cop involved in fists of action all the time, but had lots of brainy elements, thanks to director Arivazhagan. When director Gopinath narrated me this story, it had lots of exciting twists and turns and the basic premise itself is more engaging.”

On delineating the difference between Kuttram 23 and this film, Arun Vijay adds, “Naturally, Kuttram 23 was a crime thriller with ‘Medical’ as the main element. This one is a crime thriller revolving around series of mysterious murders in the city and how a cop unravels the mystery beneath them. The director is now finalizing others in the cast and crew. If everything goes well as planned, the shooting will commence by end of March.

Currently, Arun Vijay is busy shooting for the second schedule of Agni Siragugal in Kolkata, which also features Vijay Antony in another lead role alongside Shalini Pandey. He will be soon kick-starting his other film ‘Boxer’, a sports based movie, where reigning boxer has to battle his own demons
