Presents ‘RJD The Band’ an eclectic group of musicians on Friday, 17th of December at RA Puram, Chennai

‘RJD the Band’ is a cover band formed with over 60 years of collective experience. The members of that band have performed or been associated with several top musical acts across the country.

The band currently consists of Ritesh John Dharmaraj on vocals and guitar, Jitesh James Dharmaraj on Bass & Backing Vocals, Siddharth Kumar on Keyboards & Backing Vocals, Godfray Immanuel on Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals and Vinay Ramakrishnan on drums; all stalwart musicians in their own right and staples in the Chennai music scene and will perform at Black Orchid

Each member of the RJD Band brings their own influences together in a melting pot of stylistic identity.

‘Jaya Ho’ completes four hundred weeks at Black & White Resto Bar, 

The Residency

 ‘Jaya Ho’, Hindi Retro Karaoke night at Black & White, The Residency completes four hundred weeks. Started in the year 2011, ‘Jaya Ho’ has now become the longest running Hindi Retro show in Chennai. Held every Friday from 8.30 pm, Singer Jaya Rajagopalan, a renowned singer in Chennai’s music scene has been dishing out retro Hindi music and Bollywood tracks to full houses since 2011.

Jaya Rajagopalan, popularly known as Chennai’s Asha Bhosle started her career by singing in Light Music Troupes then slowly got into the film industry and to her credit has sung around forty songs in Tamil and about two hundred songs in  various languages like Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. She is a versatile singer and popularly known for her modulation of voices.

Her passion towards Hindi Retro music made her start a full Hindi retro music night titled “Jaya Ho”. Now it’s the longest running Hindi Retro show in Chennai and is going strong amidst the music lovers of Chennai. Over the years ‘Jaya Ho’ has comprised of a lot of theme based shows which has been a major hit. There have been themes like Asha Bhosle, Latha Nite, S.D.Burman Nite, R.D. Burman Nite, Hits of 50's, O.P. Nayyar, Gulzar, Binaca geet mala, National Award songs and many more.
