Suseenthiran’s “Angelina” Tit Bits

Suseenthiran’s “Angelina”

Filmmaker Suseenthiran has been highly acclaimed for couple of unparalleled qualities. One for his ability to delve into newfangled storylines packaging them with commercial ingredients and other one is something really to marvel upon, which is wrapping up his projects in short span of time entitling him as ‘Master of Quickies’. The filmmaker’s forthcoming directorial “Angelina” had set a good meter of expectations as his erstwhile movie “Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer” had similar touch of colourful youthfulness with a strong message by the end. Opining on this, Suseenthiran says, “Angelina is basically a suspense thriller, which opens with an investigation. At the same time, I have tried blending with the drama involving youthful characters. However, the film’s theme is based on social awareness of how a woman should live and handle the complexities that she encounters.” Adding upon the film’s cast and crew, the filmmaker who has witnessed great reception for his onscreen debut in recent release Suttu Pidikka Utharavu says, “Saran Sanjai makes his debut in lead role through this film with Krisha Kurup (Goli Soda 2 fame) in female lead. Soori and Devadarshini will be seen playing prominent characters in this movie. This is the sixth time, I am collaborating with D Imman and am gladly in glee over the reception for his music. AR Soorya, who had earlier worked with me in movies like “Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer” is handling cinematography.”

Having said that the film is based on suspense-thriller laced with investigation, it eventually leads towards curiousness on the running length. “Yes, it’s just 1hr 50 minutes and we have tried presenting it in a gripping manner.”

“Angelina” is produced by K.V. Shanthi for Aahraam Thinai Films and is distributed by Alexander for Picture Box Company. The others in the technical crew has GC Anandhan (Art), Thiyagu (Editor), Viveka & Kabilan (Lyrics), Anbariv (Stunts), Shobi (Choreography), R Nirupama Ragupathy (Costumes) and Dharani (Sound Design)

Actor Vikranth on Suttu Pidikka Utharavu

Etching a great mark of accomplishment through his performance in ‘Pandiya Nadu’, actor Vikranth’s career graph has found itself scaling decent heights with each film.  The intense roles and scripts have been nurturing his career graph and his upcoming film ‘Suttu Pidikka Utharavu’ is no exception. His portions in the film’s visual promos have spread out the larger lease of confidence among the audiences that he has something different and unique to deliver here. So what actually acquired his interest to be a part of this film? Ask Vikranth and he says, “Frankly speaking, I didn’t want to be a part of this film at first. When director Ramprakash Rayappa informed me that it’s a multi-starrer project, I wanted to skip it as my previous ones to have been on the same pattern. Moreover, when I had movies like “Bakrid”, which is establishing me in a solo lead role, I had the reluctant mindset to take up this offer. However, when Ramprakash made a request at least to listen the script, I decided to give a try. In 10 minutes of narration, I was completely awestruck by the way how he narrated and shaped my character. Well, I had no options, but to get onboard.”

Soon after viewing the trailer, we have a strong curiosity tagged to Vikranth’s role as it remains veiled. He says, “My role has everything amalgamated for it involves emotions, suspense an action. Usually, thriller movies are bounded to the formulae of making everyone stay with guesses for a while. In contrast, Suttu Pidikka Utharavu will have a straight story without such aspects and yet, the thrill elements will be retained throughout the story.” Having said this, it’s really exciting to see the actor perform so many breathtaking action sequences.”The actual truth is that it was hugely challenging as I am someone, who gets dizziness at heights. SPU is a film that has major stunts happening on building tops and it was really a tough task to accomplish,” smilingly says Vikranth.

Suttu Pidikka Utharavu slated for June 14 release features Vikranth, Athulya Ravi, Mysskin and Suseenthiran in lead roles is directed by Ramprakash Rayappa and is produced by PK Ram Mohan of Kalpataru Pictures.

Angelina songs become the seasonal showstoppers now

There’s been more special about Suseenthiran-D Imman duo for their musical albums have never missed to conquer the massive crowds. Their latest outing with ‘Angelina’ had the album released before couple of days at an FM and the songs have been getting wonderful response. On the other hand, the film has already become the source of decorous attention among the film buffs as they are curiously inclined to the film. With Picture Box Company Alexander acquiring the distribution rights, it’s evident that the film will have a huge release.

Alexander says, "There are regular assumptions that a good film actually gets escalated through marketing and release when a good production house clasps it. However, it’s only the good projects that actually elevate a producer or anyone involved in the trade. To be honest, Suseenthiran sir’s films have never missed to clinch a strong position in the list of film traders. His excellent mastery over the formula of presenting intense themes with engrossing narration has established as an all time winner. In particular, he has been one among the rarest filmmakers, who has consistently delivered commendable films with newcomers in the lead roles. In this aspect, “Angelina”  has been the centre of attention from the very beginning of the project and I have been personally following its updates. It’s a film that will surely showcase the colourful youthfulness and at the same time, has an amazing story premise of thriller elements."

Talking about the musical success of Angelina, Alexander adds, "The sparkling combo of Suseenthiran-D Imman has carved an exceedingly huge success from the very beginning of their journey. I am extremely happy about the wowing reception of "Angelina" and my favourite number is ‘Oru Naal’, which has become the current addiction of music lovers. We will be soon starting our promotional phase and will reveal our release plans after zeroing in the perfect date.”

Featuring Krisha Kurup, Saran Sanjai, Soori, Devadarshini and few more prominent actors in the star-cast, “Angelina” is an investigative thriller with romance elements. Produced  by KV Shanthi for Aahraam Thinai Films, the technical team includes AR Soorya (DOP), Thiyagu (Editor), G Canandhan (Art), D Imman (Music), Viveka & Kabilan (Lyrics), Anbariv (Stunts) and  Shobi (Choreographer).

Suttu Pidikka Utharavu censored with U/A

The title and the first look that arrived as an unconventional surprise triggered off a perfect throw of anticipations. Especially, to see the rarest combination of star-cast comprising of filmmakers Mysskin, Suseenthiran along with Vikranth and Athulya Ravi pulled off a neatest attraction. What pushed it furthermore for an impressive show were the strikingly salient visual promos.  With the film progressing towards the release, it has now completed a major process of censor certification. The CBFC members viewed the film recently and have certified it with UA.

Suttu Pidikka Utharavu is all set to be an intense action thriller, where Dinesh Kasi has choreographed the stunt sequences. In addition, he has played an important role in this film performing the action blocks without any dupes and ropes. The entire team was frozen in extreme shock, where he took a long leap from the tallest building and fractured his legs. To everyone’s surprise, he was back to the shoot in 30 minutes on wheelchair and resumed his portions.  It’s worth mentioning that 80% of the shooting phase had myriad fighters and this assures that the film is going to be a top-massy amuser with nitty-gritty action blocks.

Suttu Pidikka Utharavu is directed by Ramprakash Rayappa, who managed to afford a groovy attention through the directorial debut ‘Tamizhukku En Ondrai Azhuthavum’. P.K. Ram Mohan is producing this film for Kalpataru Pictures. Sujith Sarang (Cinematography), Jakes Bejoy (Music) and G. Rama Rao (Editing) have already stamped their great presence with the trailer. The official announcement on the film’s release will be made shortly in time by the makers.

Genius will have deep impact

“Running length of Genius is 100 minutes, but every scene will have deep impact”  – SUSEENTHIRAN

Filmmaker Suseenthiran owns a unique and unparalleled trait of film making. Every film he delivers has something completely phenomenal carrying a societal concept and delivered with an engrossing style. His upcoming film ‘Genius’ is all scheduled for release on October 26 and he has lots of interesting things to share about the film. It’s inquisitive see that the running length is so short and how well is he confident about offering more impact with it.

“Yes, the running length of Genius is just 100 minutes (1hr 40mins), each scene will have a deep impact,” says Suseenthiran, who adds that the movie will remain so much close to his heart forever just like it was with Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Maveeran Kittu and Jeeva. “There will be lots of engrossing moments in the film. The earnest thing that I wanted to attempt with Genius to showcase the contemporary crisis that every children and students are facing. These days, the school going kids are deprived of even sunlight and are excessively bounded to pressures leading to stress and depression…”

Adding the emphasis on this scenario, Suseenthiran says, “We all buy mobile phones out of joy, but later to realize the stress it has created around us is completely unrecoverable.”

While speaking about the inspiration behind penning the script of ‘Genius’, Suseenthiran says, “It was nearly before 11 years, where I happened to have tea at a stall. It was at that point of time, where I saw as a decent looking youngster, say around 26 years of age. After sipping his tea, he just left the place forgetting to pay the money. The tea stall owner requested him to pay the money and he replied saying that he forgot the wallet. His voice was so feeble that the owner didn’t hear him and suddenly, he yelled out “Tomorrow, he will give it.” I was so much shocked to see such a decent guy with probably a huge figure salary behave this way. What could have turned him this way dropped an idea in me to pen the script of Genius.”

While speaking about the actors in the film, Susi says, “In almost all my films, it has been newcomers in the lead roles. Here, we have Roshan, Priya Lal and few others who have played the main roles, but Aadukalam Narain sir will be seen in a strong role.”

While speaking about his collaboration with Yuvan Shankar Raja after a long time, he says, “Yuvan might be slightly delaying with his work, but the main reason is his commitment to deliver the perfect output. In that way, I am so happy that the songs he has composed for Genius have come out well.”
