 Public Advisory from ‘Vi’ Against Online & KYC Frauds

“It has been brought to our notice that some Vi customers are getting SMS and Calls from unidentified numbers asking them to update their KYC immediately. These fraudsters, at times, disguise as company representatives and threaten unsuspecting users with SIM block if KYC is not done. They may also seek certain confidential information from customers, in the name of verification.

Vi cautions all our customers against such unauthorised Calls and SMS. Vi customers are advised to not give their KYC details or share any OTP with anybody on a call, and should not call back on these numbers or click on any link mentioned in the SMS.

Customers are informed that clicking on any unverified link or sharing any details could lead to data and information theft from the mobile device, and can have other serious consequences.

All customer communication from the company is only done from the SMS ID ‘ViCARE’. Any SMS being acted upon which is not originating from ‘ViCARE’ is strictly not advisable.

Integration of CoWin on Vi App helps simplify the procedure

Getting vaccinated is the most important thing one can do in the present situation to protect themselves, their families and society from the spread of Covid 19. 

To simplify the process of scheduling their vaccination appointment, Vi has integrated the CoWin App’s slot finder on the Vi App for its customers. Vi users can search for available vaccine slots and set notification alerts on the Vi App itself. Vi customers will now not need to look beyond their phone to schedule a Covid-19 vaccination appointment

Vi customers can filter their search by age group, Vaccine names (Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V), Dose, Paid/Free etc. and can source the available slots at a location closest to their address. Customers registered through the Vi App will also be notified as and when the vaccine slots are available in the user’s area. This service is available to Vi prepaid and post-paid customers.

§  There will be daily challenges based on day’s match.

§  One can predict game outcomes - Who will win the toss, who will win the match, how many runs will be scored in the next over and so on. 

§  Use your cricket knowledge to score extras.

§  Each day’s match results (leader board) which will be published post the day’s play is over, i.e.  the winners will be announced every day for that day’s match(es)
